I replaced the lamp on my XGC55X Sharp Projector and it worked great for 2 nights (roughly 6 hours). Now it goes to warm up, with the lamp light blinking, and will power down with the status button showing red. How do I get it to work?

Do one thing just reset the lamp hour of your projector. For resetting the lamp hour do the following.

While simultaneously holding down the Right arrow ( >) button and Auto sync button on the projector press Power ON button and Left arrow ( button . The lamp hour will indicate zero.
If doesn't work you have to replace the lamp.
Remember on thing Lamp hour reset is recommended only after the lamp replaced. so try to replace the lamp if it work after the resetting procedure.

Our sharp projector at church is really dim, the people who are giving us quotes say we have burned the lens and we should get a new projector. They are saying this without actually looking at the...

they are half right. most likely it's the #2 fly-eye lens. there are 2 lenses just after the lamp that evenly disperse the light. the second one burns frequently in dusty conditions. but they're wrong in saying you need to get a new projector, but you do need to take it down. the part itself is about $170. add labor and it's a little over $300. now you need to decide which route you want to go, repair or replace?

to avoid this problem with the other one, when you go up to get this one, clean out the other one with canned air. dust is bad.

Just replaced bulb when cold it has trouble lighting.

it's not the lamp, it's the ballast. when it's fully discharged, it needs too much power to start. once it has the caps charged (when it's been running and warm), it'll start right away. it sounds as if the capacitors on the ballast are drying up. best to replace the ballast. after you do, make sure the projector is free of dust and dirt. excessive dust will cause premature power and lamp failure due to lack of cool down.

Projector sharp dt100 not working!

It is possible the lamp has died even though you only got 800 hours. Rated Lamp life is always up to and never a surety of those actual hours in the brochure will be acahieved. If you would like a quote for a replacement lamp let me know as we ship internationally. Regards Kevin Andreassend http://www.iceav.co.nz +0064-9-4142348 [email protected]
