SHARP NOTEVISION XG-C50X LCD PROJECTOR: Does this
Hi there,
Sharp makes light and compact projectors with low fan noise. Set the projector up in areas subject to minimal humidity and dust to avoid having to clean the lens too often. Remember that colors will get washed out if the screen is in direct sunlight. Learn a few troubleshooting techniques to get the most out of this work horse projector.
No Pictures, Sound or the Projector Fails to Start
If you have no pictures, sound or the projector fails to start, check that the power cord is plugged into the wall and that all the cables are connected to the rear panel. Make sure the remote control batteries are fresh. If you are using a notebook computer, make sure the screen output is correct. Check the Input Mode on the projector. Check the projector physically--is the lamp and cover in place? Check the key lock.
Remote won't turn on projector
if the buttons don't work or the leds are not on the projector, it has a power problem. make sure the outlet for the projector is functioning. if still nothing, the bimetal breaker on the projector may have tripped due to overheating. you'll need to remove the top cover. the bimetal has a small red button and is located on the lamp housing. push in the button to reset it. also make sure that the lamp door and the lens cover are completely installed and that the blue switches for them are not broken. this will also cause it not to turn on.
Our sharp projector at church is really
they are half right. most likely it's the #2 fly-eye lens. there are 2 lenses just after the lamp that evenly disperse the light. the second one burns frequently in dusty conditions. but they're wrong in saying you need to get a new projector, but you do need to take it down. the part itself is about $170. add labor and it's a little over $300. now you need to decide which route you want to go, repair or replace?
to avoid this problem with the other one, when you go up to get this one, clean out the other one with canned air. dust is bad.
Display fault
either the light filter before the blue lcd is fried or the 2nd fly-eye lens is. take the lamp out and shine a flashlight through the glass in the projector. if you see blackened burn marks on the other side of the glass, the fly-eye lens is burnt and needs replacing (but is currently out of stock). if not, it's the lcd light filter (which is in stock).

Dull picture
I am having this exact problem with this projector. It has been doing this for over a year now. I am happy to see that I am not the only one. Not happy that you do not seem to have had any suggestions on how to fix it. We have even changed the bulb and the problem still persists.
Changing settings
Hi cajun51man
If you go into the User Menu of the Projector look for a subfolder that reads either Flip Image or Mirror.
Scroll down to it and scroll left or right - this will switch between the image features.
