You should try to service it first. The most important part of a service is to change the turmal compound. After 3 month the compound gets hard and starts to strain the cpu up to the point that the cpu dont turn on .

Anonymous Dec 11, 2021 we do not see gateways often now, for sure in USA? the PC is infected, not normal at all ever, unless its asking for endless updates of OS and apps. if icons disappear, that is infections. what country sold this tablet to you, the support site for Gateway is by COUNTRY ad they are not all the same world wide. Re install Win 7 as a fresh install and install the system drivers. There are no updates for Win 7 as Win 7 is no longer supported.

ahh a laptop 2 years old (C14 lab test lol) any laptop can be dismantled safely AC power pack first removed totally and the big battery next and it is safe to work on now. the keyboard can be replaced and near impossible to clean. top PCs have service manual but GW is far far from top. cracker thin PC, and some have no keyboard removal at all seems yours is both. my dell has real keyboard and had liquid drain paths, that you do not have. so the whole top of PC must be replaced. cheap walmart PCs are like that, hard to service, no manuals and worse NO SPARE PARTS. but it was cheap the battery is deep inside and super thin and back of PC removed it has power plug to pull inside, all PC cracker thin are this way. there is no service manuals. Kindly check if the lights are on when u boot up the PC, furthermore, if you have air blower, clean it once, and remove the rams from the ram slots and install again, if u have more than 1 ram installed, install one ram at a time to check if there is any faulty one.

what GW PC non told for 29 years made and 100's of models tell what model it is first or you will get wrong answers like taking car to the shop and hood welded shut, and engine misfiring. just like that we can not work blind, period

The screen is probably broken and the parts that let the touch pad to work and respond have stopped working on you. You should get it repaired or buy another one.

Is this a Gateway SK-9922 keyboard with PS/2 connection? This is an old product, at least 12 years old. I don't believe there is driver support for it in Win 10.
