The door latch assemble has 2 switches on it. The terminals have to be wiggled and pulled off one ar a time. If they are difficult to get loose you can use a pair of needle nose pliers and a thin bladed screwdriver to release them from the terminals. Just take your time and do a ONE wire OFF / One wire ON replacement procedure.

This issue, PRESUMING that your machine allows un-rinsed dishes, may be a pinched or restricted DRAIN system. Think in terms of water exchange..... And you cannot just hook up to a garbage disposer, they have a plug in the passageway....
It is likely the drain hose is blocked (assuming the drain pump is running) or the kitchen sink is clogged. Perhaps if there is an inskerator in the sink that should be run first.

Repairing the pump involves some amount of technical expertise and i would suggest authorised technician to do it.
First we must identify is the pump exact cause of the leak by analyzing the leak area and then proceed to rectify .
I do not think that you will need a new dishwasher.

Try this first.. Go to your local Walmart and purchase a bottle of dishwasher magic.Follw the instructions on the bottle to clean the machine. in some cases this may take several attempts to clean out all of the hard water deposits... Then use a product called Lemishine (about 1/2 full in the main wash receptacle and other half detergent) with a good powdered detergent this solves this problem 90% of the time. If this does not help then further investigation would be required. Look for broken or damaged spray arms or anything the may be causing improper water flow.
You will have to first check/test the door latch assembly,
if that is fine and the door is closing properly then it means that the control
board is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for
further assistance.
Hi Beverly...... When the unit will run when the door is open or will not run when the door is closed is when the switches may be bad. The issue we have is securing the door closed....meaning either the door latch,or door handle is broken or the door latch strike plate or door handle may need adjusting. I would suggest the following.
1.) Close the door to the point of when it will not close. Note the latch and the strike plates positioning. Are they mating correctly? If not you can adjust the strike plate forward or backwards by loosening the two screws that fasten it.
2.) Watch this video on how to enter the area of the door latch and look for any broken pieces. This video is for a Amana DW but may not be the exact model. But all are pretty much the same. It will also show you the door handle. Click on the link http://youtu.be/cqt7BNVqkyA
