Not reading DVD
It's common problem with combo drives in notebooks, they don't seem to last long.
Try this:-
Go to my computer>properties>hardware>device manager and look down the list for your cd/dvd drives and click the '+' sign then highlight your dvd drive and right click to delete.
Restart the pc and windows will find the drive again automatically and install the drivers.
If the problem persists the laser is faulty in the drive and the drive will need to be replaced.
Cant even READ DVD
the XP driver really should work appropriately. I might assume that the drive is damaged (which happens to me frequently with older DVD drives).
I need help
could be a manufacturer's program glitch that will not allow you to see some cds or dvds. it does happen to some brand such as asus dvd/player. they are very choosy when it comes to the kind of disk you try to put in

Change CD R/RW
I'm pretty sure the cables for all writers/readers are the same. One thing is for sure, if they fit they will work.

MY CRX320EE DOESN'T BURN DVD'S
This is because the model you mentioned is just a combo drive. It is not a dvd burner. You can watch dvd's with it but not burn them. The way manufacturers word the advertising leads some people to believe that they have a dvd and cd burner. All you have is a cd burner / dvd player. What you want is a dvd-rw / cd-rw drive. Sorry! I hope this helps.

Burner doesnt recognize CD's
is this a new device? were there any updates on your compter recently? if any of this is correct, you should install new drivers.
if this doesnt help, and you aren't capable of dismantling the CD and check its lens, try installing the CDrom on another computer, thats the best way to determine if the problem is with the CD itself or not.
