When I choose default to letter size in Lexmark E460dn printer, it bumps to legel, asks to load legal paper and then prints 3/4 page. I do not want to print in legal size. I want it to stay at letter.

Load mp feader a4

Please determine what size you are trying to print (A4, Letter, Legal, etc.). The printer is requesting A4 sized paper in the maunal paper feeder becuase either you selected manual feed or the setting for the default try (usually tray 1) is not set to the correct paper size. In your case, make sure the green slide adjustment on tray 1 is set to A4.

Make sure to set the correct paper size when printing. Letter - letter; legal - legal size.

Printer wont print. It keeps saying PC Load Legal. The printer has paper in it.

Well the printer is telling you to load "Legal Size paper, which is 8.5" X 14" paper.

More than likely, the application you are using is telling the printer to print the page on legal sized paper.

If you want the document to print on "Letter sized paper (8.5" X 11") then in the application, go to the File drop down and select "Page Setup". From within page setup's window, change the paper size to letter and then re-print the job.

THE PRINT FROM MY LEXMARK PRINTER IS SMALL AND I CANNOT ADJUST THIS. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE

Your printer supports a wide variety of paper sizes. See Media guidelines for illustrations of proper paper orientation. The printer determines the size paper loaded in the trays by the position of the paper guides. Make sure you adjust the guides each time you change paper sizesYour printer can automatically sense when A4, letter, legal, executive media or B5, DL, and #10 envelopes are loaded in tray1. To do this, the Auto Size Sense setting must be set to On. Your printer default was set at the factory to either the US or Non-US default with the Auto Size Sense setting On.To change the Auto Size Sense setting to Off: 1 Turn the printer off. 2 Press and hold the Go and Stop buttons and turn the printer on. 3 Release both buttons when Performing Self Test appears. 4 Press Menu> or <Menu, until the Tray 1 Auto Size message appears. 5 Press Select. 6 Press Menu> or <Menu, until Off appears on the display. 7 Press Select. To return the Auto Size Sense setting to On, repeat steps 1 through 7 but, select On during step 6.

Cannot print to legal size paper format

There could be a few issues causing this problem.
1. Your document size on the actual document you are attempting to print believes it is letter (which is the default).
To change this setting, you must tell the computer you wish to print on legal paper.

To do this in MS. OUTLOOK:
Put the curser at the top of the page
then...under 'File-Print-Preferences-Layout-Advanced-Paper size-change to legal (from Letter'
-slightly tedious...but follow along and this should help

2. The printer needs to be adjusted to hold the legal paper.
Open up the legal tray to adjust the paper holder to hold the paper snuggly...it slides roughly.

Hope this helps..if you need more assistance please ask...also please rate my solution.
PLEASE note that anything other than a FIX-YA is actually a negative rank...and will lower my success...I didn't make the system...but that is the way it is in FIX-YA.
thanks

Tray output

You should configure TRAY 1 as Legal only.
and Tray 2 as plain letter.

Specially when you specify from what tray/paper type to print.

This can be easily configured from the Printer Properties within the Printers and Faxes section of the Control Panel.

Good luck!
