Memoirs leaking from seal between
In 2008 I bought the Memoirs model that Lowe's was selling. I've had multiple tank/bowl gasket leak problems. When I went to get a replacement gasket this weekend, Kohler had changed the style of the tank/bowl gasket assembly in the current Memoirs model that Lowes sells. I wonder if this is because the old gasket assembly is known to be defective and prone to leaking?
When I called Kohler, it took two customer service associated, but I was granted a WHOLE NEW TOILET with the new style of tank/bowl gasket assembly. I just had to have the receipt for the (3 yrs ago) purchase. Kohler e-mailed a letter for a replacement toilet within about 15 minutes and before the end of the day, I had a whole new toilet in my bathroom.
I'm not a contractor. Just an average homeowner, so I can't say for sure that the old style (large, black, plastic rectangle on the bottom of the tank and a rather thin gasket ring) was defective or not. (At first Kohler offered only a replacement tank, but after hearing the number of times both I *and* plumbers have replaced the gasket, they did authorize the replacement of the entire toilet.)

Another remedy if you can't find the same lugs or stoppers, is go to any hardware or home depot store and get those little plastic stoppers that are felt or adhesive back that is used for the bottom of kitchen chairs so as not to scratch harwood floors, you can use them fo substitute . Also they make small round 1/4 inch plastic little bumps used for home slider window stops. Hope this helps you get that toilet seat up and running , or is that down and running :) mike

My motor for my kohler
Indeed, that sounds like it has suffered fro ma power surge. You can look up on Google maps in your area for a qualified repair man, or you can try and tackle the job yourself, though if you do not have experience with 220v services I would strongly advise against this, as it could lead to a fire and or electrocution.

I have 5 kohler pressure
There are two holes in the top of the bowl where the tank attaches. As you indicate, one hole delivers water to the jet at the inlet to trap passageway, and another smaller hole to direct water to the rim.
I have seen in some cases the gasket that seals the tank to the bowl block the smaller rim-fed hole. All you need to do is knotch the gasket where the hole is located and re-install the gasket so the knotch is located over the hole. If you have any other questions please call the 800 phone number on top of the Flushmate.

Hi jaynemeth,
The tiny black particles are dried bacteria left in the water lines and jets from previous uses. You should be cleaning the lines and jets with the recommended cleaners after use and before the lines dry out to prevent bacteria building up.
Copy and paste this web address into your browser and a page will open with an example of a cleaner you can buy at that site: >>>> http://www.uspartscenter.com/spasystemflush16oz.aspx
Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Water keeps running after the
There is an adjustment screw on top to adjust the float shutoff level. Models vary, but should be easy to find. It is usually where the float attaches to the valve body. Give it a turn, you want the float to go down. Flush and recheck water level and readjust if necessary.

Water runs every 5 seconds
The water has to be going somewhere. Open the top and see where it is leaking.
1. It is either going past the flapper to the bowl. You should be able to see a fine stream running down the inside somewhere.
2. It is going into the overflow tube.
3. It is going out the handle hole.

Koler K4620 Suddenly will not flush. Water
Several possibilities. I have seen hygenic items " stack up" in a 4 inch line creating this
problem on at least two occasions. Try using a 6 foot extendable toilet auger instead of
a plunger. (home depot carries them for about 45 dollars or you may be able to rent one
at the tool rental). If this does not solve the problem you may have to use a shop vac to
empty the toilet and auger it from the bottom as well as the main line after pulling it
Examine the exiting
flange of the toilet itself as many times something as simple as a bowl freshener wire or a
Q tip can cause paper to clog the toilet. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Check the connections on the air hose to make sure they are tight and that the hose has not cracked anywhere...
If all that check out then the electric switch is going bad...

Hi,
I have a Kohler toilet
Go to the Kohler web page and try to find your toilet. The numbers you have here are not jiving. They have pictures of all models. Once you get the Kohler Mdl. number, you should be able to obtain info on which fill valve you need. Most of the parts are not that hard to purchase.

- Purchase a "Fill Valve & Flapper Repair Kit" from you local hardware store (under $15).
- To install Turn aforementioned valve Clockwise and follow the manual for your particular repair kit
- Turn valve mentioned in step 3 counterclockwise.
- Enjoy your working Toilet!

Toilet opens correctly, but overflows
Hi, it depends on whether the tank or bowl overflows.
In either case: Immediately open the tank (remove the lid)& lift the float, or valve arm, or ... (if you are reading this, I'm probably too late to prevent the flooding.) Then turn off the valve at the wall under the tank & put a small bucket under it, because this shut-off valve often leaks a bit after being turned.
If the tank: Fix the overflow (standpipe), or the fill valve. They can be easily replaced by a handy home-owner (A bad flapper valve would not cause an overflow, but only cause the tank to leak into the bowl.
If the bowl: Clear the clog in the sewer piping. Don't put big or water absorbent things down the drain, or else talk to your doctor.

My kohler faucet is leaking.
you generally can work on the faucet from up above. turn the valves off underneath in the cabinet area and remove the knobs or handle . From that point everything should be visible that you need to do.

Tub spout, cannnot lift up
Hi,
The tub spout can be replaced very easily....
Check if it spins off (threaded) or if there is a allen set screw that you get to from the bottom of the spout....the spout will then just pull off....
They sell new spouts at Home Depot, Lowes, or Plumbing Supply houses....the universal spouts will fit either configuration...
