Sta rite 400na gives error code 05 after about 30 seconds
I am not sure if you have received an answer to the issue, or not, but just in case! An EO5 error code is an open stack flue sensor, or switch, There are two forms of the stack flue sensor, so you will need to know which one you have on the heater.
What this error code means is that the sensor "read" the flue temp to be over 500 degrees. Usually, it is just gone bad and reading the wrong temp.

E05 code
e05 error code means shorted stack flu switch or sensor. oder heaters have the switch, newer heaters have the sensor. make sure you know which one you have before ordering a replacement.

Yesterday I had my heater converted fro LP to
The wrong orifice was installed. Sta-Rite changed their blower configuration 3 years ago. Heaters older than that have a flat orifice that works with the older style blowers. Newer heaters are equipped with a tapered orifice. Mixing a flat with a new blower causes whistling. Mixing a tapered with an old blower causes whistling. Good luck!

Water heats up and than it cools off . But it turn on when the water is almost cold
Your heater will only come on when the pump is circulating. Check to see if your pump is on or off. I am sure you already know that if you have it set to heat to 84 it should get to that temperature and maintain it within two degrees. If it doesn't, then here must be a problem. Don't immediately blame heater. Check pump operation.
