Can I use a WD3200AAJS

Hello!
The drive you have is a SATA drive, and has no master/slave configuration as such.  There is a connector block on the back to configure other options such as spread spectrum clocking.  Normal configuration is a jumper between pins 1 and 2 (all the way on the right side, facing the back).  A picture of the other configuration options is shown below.
Hope this helps you out,
Ken

Hard drive disk will not spin

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause you problems

computers need all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

check you CPU make sure its securely seated and has thermal grease might be getting to hot

hope this helps you

Can I install windows 7 on an old windows ME machine if I installal new hard drive?

Hello,You probably don't need to replace the hard drive. It may very well have enough space to install Windows 7. You can likely install Windows 7 on the old PC, but depending on how much ram the machine has it may not be such a great experience in the end.......seriously. If you can get 1 gig or more of ram in it, then it may be feasable to install win7, but don't expect much in the way of performance. I don't mean to sound negative though....if you're so inclined, then go for it! It is probably do-able.Joe

Can I replace a CD drive with a Hard Disk drive?

yes, but the harddrive needs to have the pins in the "slave" position to not conflict with the first harddrive's operation.

Chances are your disk is partitioned. If it's your Operating System drive, you should reformat with your OS disc. If it's just a secondary drive, check in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac/Linux) and you can re-partition the drive as you desire. For windows, do search in the start menu search bat to find disk management, and in mac use spotlight to find disk utility.

This Can be done, however, it requires some work: (3rd party tools to read the partition, since OS X uses different partition styles than Windows, and they don't play well together. Here is a Thread in a forum which people have figured it out, it seems there's an application "MacDrive" that is supposed to solve this, maybe Daemon Tools.... either or both should do.Here is the Forum:http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=251227Hope this helps. Please rate me. Computer will not recognize hard

Make sure that in the computers bios, the SATA port is enabled, and that all the cables are properly connected, if the drive is brand new it needs to be first Partitioned and then formatted for it to show up in your "my computer" or computer folder.
