It says my card is

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

6c99e31.jpg

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards
Andrea

Hello,

If can not show ,hidden file (tools >folder option>view> check on show hidden file>check off hide protected and checkoff hide extension) now can see all hidden file in c drive. If not think...... For ensure again run>type> msconfig > hit can not open ms config if virus effected run >type> regedit>hit>can not open registry if virus effected run >type >gpedit.msc>hit can not open group edit policy if virus effected Otherwise, ifyou don't have any vital data on the drive, just format it in another pc.Pleasenote, before insert the Pen drive .Go to run command from start menu OR Press Win key+R and type gpedit.msc and hit>Usser configuration >system>turn off auto play >enable>use down arrow key select all drive >apply >ok. Some computers will not support a large 8GB stick. The best some will do is 2GB, If you are running a computer pre-2001, you may not be able to use the 8GB stick (I have the same problem with my desktop PC). It just is not supported!

I have inserted the lexar card reader into the USB

Go into "My Computer" and locate the card reader drive icon. If it's not there then you need to load its' driver. If it is there, merely double click on it to open the files contained in the card.

One day my SD card was fine and full of pictures

You may need to try some photo recovery software to rescue the pictures, here are some for your option. You may not recover all the pictures, but will recover most of them.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac
Both programs are able to recover pictures, videos and music files.
Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory card or stick in case the original lost files are overwritten.

When i switch it on it says incorrect format

Sounds like a format error on the storage. The bad news is the tunes stored on it are probably gone.
Do you have a mini USB B cable that you can connect to a PC? With this you can reformat the internal memory and the SD card.
Good luck.
