I changed a Compaq F700US computer from Vistas to XP The drivers are not in the XP system and I have been trying to find the drivers that I need on the web. I am having problems finding the names of Manufactures for the devices. Anyone else have an easy solution for this problem? I have found some of the drivers, but even after installing the HP soluiton to upgrade audio drivers, I am still not finding the devices, any of the ones needed. HELP

Do you have the modem driver installed? on a lot of laptops ive worked with the modem and audio are like put together or something. you usually have to have the modem drivers installed before you can get the audio to work. try going to http://www.conexant.com/support/md_driverdownload.jsp
click on modem driver assistance and then click agree at the bottom and see if any of that stuff helps

Changing OS from windows vista to xp

You can install xp on a vista laptop, you will need an xp install cd and you will need to backup your data (it will be erased in the downgrade process). As for the drivers, go to your laptops manufactures site. They will have a support section for your laptop model where you can see if there are drivers for xp. If you have the hardware that will support windows 7, I would go with that. Xp is slow and no longer supported by Microsoft as of April 2014, which poses a security risk. Windows 7 will be supported for a while and is faster and more stable than xp or vista.

I have a compaq dx1000 microtower machine. After changing the operating system to windows server 2003, ethernet controller, pci bus, sm bus and sounds are not working. Can somebody please assist me.

It appears that compaq doesnt support that version of windows for that machine.

That doesnt mean you can't get it working though. for that os, i suggest either trying xp vista or windows 7 drivers.

i would try xp drivers first, because they are the closest generation of drivers to windows server 2003.

you can get the drivers for your computer here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3926824&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3926822&lang=en&cc=us

I hope this works for you. Microsoft did report the there are very few windows server 2003 drivers available.

Cant use my rad 5 with a desktop Dell computer with Vista

Temporarily connect another monitor to your computer.

Set the screen-resolution to 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.

Disconnect the other monitor, and connect your RAD.

It should display.

Try changing the screen-resolution to 1024 by 768, and "test" it.

Changing Vista to XP Pro on a Compaq Presario SR2180NX Desktop PC

SR2180NX has the Vista 32Bit OS from HP. The restore partition will always put Vista 32Bit back on if you use it. Windows XP can only be put on from scratch and I have done it while I still have Vista installed. One problem: there are no XP drivers under SR2180NX webpages. Do your research on the parts that are installed in the 2180 and any other HP machines that have the Windows XP operating system as the OEM OS. But First, check the Intel Site for the 945 chipset drivers (include the SouthBridge, too) under XP. Get them downloaded to a CD and burn the rest of the drivers you find for XP on the same CD. This way, you will have them ready when you are performing the down-grade to windows xp. After you are done with the XP install, you will still have access to the files & work you had done while in Vista. The Vista files are still readable. You might want to consider getting the Windows 7 Professional (not basic) available October 22, 2009. AND you will still have to get the Intel Downloads for Win7 any way, so why not make it a project and make it last for a few years. XP Support stops in 2014.
