Our amana bottom freezer refrigerator Model ABB2224DEQ at times leaks onto our kitchen floor. We don't have an ice maker so I am wondering where it would be coming from and what needs to be done to...

This is likely water from the auto defrost operation leaking from the evaporating pan. Sounds like the pan may have a hole in it, or the hose which drains the water into the pan is leaking, The pan is at the very bottom of the unit.

Remove the front panel, two screws on bottom. On the bottom of the motor is a white colored pump, if the water is coming from there you need to replace the pump. you can find this part on line, just google Amana washer parts.

Let me know ifyou have any more questions.

Amana washer

take the front panel off, two screws at the bottom of the front panel, probably a 5/16 nut driver will work. You will need a flash light. partially fill the washer with water and then turn it to spin.

Look up underneath the tub and see where the water is leaking from. If its coming from above the bearing you need a seal job.

Bearing, seal kit, not cheap, how old is the machine, time to buy a new one?

Leaking

You will need to determine where the leak is coming from, you will need to remove the front panel to investigate, using a flat blade insert between the joint on the top and front panel approx 4" in from each side to release the clips, the top cover will now lift and hinge at the back. Remove two front panel screws, which are now accessible and remove the front panel by lifting off the bottom clips.
You should now be able to see where the leak is coming from and repair as necessary. If you put the top down you can run the machine without the front panel.
The sqeeking could be a wet drive belt.

Amana washer leaking.

Have your husband disconnect the power and water lines, pull the washer out and tip it back so he can check the hose connections to the water drain pump in the bottom of the washer. That pump should have two hose connections. In older machines, it is entirely possible that a hose has either come loose or cracked. If the hoses appear fine, check the pump itself for possible cracks. If all looks well, check the hose clamps for tightness.

Freezer leaks water!

luvbug, Your refrigerator is "frost free" which means it is automatically defrosts after the compressor runs 8 to 12 hours. The defrost cycle lasts approximately 30 minutes. If it is in normal condition, defrosted water goes through the drain into the drip pan under the refrigerator and then evaporates. The problem you are having is one of the most common - the drain line is clogged up. To fix it you have to remove the freezer drawer, defrost and clean the drain. The drawer removal procedure described in the refrigerator manual book. If you do not have one you can find it there: http://www.amana.com/amana/jsp/manual.do You will see the drain hole on the freezer floor by the rear panel. To defrost it you can use your hair dryer. To make sure it is open, run a cup of very hot water through the drain. Reinstall the freezer drawer and enjoy it! Gendos....post it back
