The red light on this printer would normally indicate paper jam, a cover open or the waste toner container is full. I would recommend double checking that no small bits of paper have got themselves lodged around rollers inside the printer. Failing this I would check the status of the waste toner bottle to see how full the printer thinks it is.
This can normally be done using the printers software on the PC, but sadly I am unfamiliar with doing it for your particular machine.

Toner light comes on and status light is red after replacing toner cartridge

There is a few reasons that cause the status light to turn red, paper jam, paper empty, toner cartridge empty, cover open and waste toner cartridge full. The PC Smart panel utility should give you an exact fault condition. Hope this helps.

YOU NEED TO DISABLE THE INK LEVEL MONITORS AFTER RE-FILLING THE CARTRIDGES. GO TO PROPERTIES, MAINTENANCE, VIEW PRINTER STATUS, OPTION AND CLICK ENABLE STATUS MONITOR ONCE.

Unplug the Printer and again Turn it back ON after few minutes. A Solid Red Light Status means that, more than often it is for Paper Jam.

Try this..
1: Turn off power and remove toner/drum
2: Tape the little spring loaded lever just inside the printer on the upper left hand side in the *DOWN* position! Do not replace drum yet and...
3: Turn power on to printer and let it cycle. Status/Toner lights will come on as usual.
4: Turn off printer, remove tape from lever, replace drum and turn back on.

The lamp has run out of its operating hours which is normally 3000 hrs. Replace the lamp and you will be alright.

make sure no paper jammed anywhere

make sure the print head is moving

make sure the ink cartridge is set down right

RED status light means that there is a possibility that the internal circuit might have got damaged (cracked to be exact). This would require a professional to fix the problem. So, the best thing to do would be to call Borther techsupport because they will instruct you specifically on what to do and what needs to be replaced (also you may need to consult the device's warranty status)

Normally press the go button all lights will go on one by one then release and quickly press go again this usually prints a demo or status page.
