SOURCE: out of balance during wash

Ok you need to check your machine is level- if not adjust feet. You aslo need to check the Bias spring is still attached if not get a new one or re-attach it. The Bias spring is a little spring that connects from the top of the front left suspention rod to the top of the plastic bowl cover (this spring is meant to help stop it going out of balance so easy. Cheers

SOURCE: GWL 11 will not pump

1 check the vacuum hose from the float switch to electronics boards to see if its cracked and has air leaks. you should be getting fault lights if the pump is jammed, blocked or is faulty and not working.

SOURCE: Fisher paykel aquasmart top loader washing

Hi - you have possibly some restrictions in/around your smart pump unit, inside is a flapper valve suppose to control flow in both directions, often this gets the rough treatments.

Be careful if you wish to have a nosy its located beneath the smart agitator.

My LAW9406AAE washer is in excellent condition BUT: when it spins it goes out of balance and the tub contacts the sides of the unit. is the repair option reasonable?

Two possible reasons
wash load is too heavy
if it goes out of ballance with small load then likely one of shock absorbers or spring holding drum in place us broken or disconnected

Washing machine goes out of balance easily

It may be a broken spring holding the wash cylinder centered or you are over loading the machine.

My Whirlpool Cabrio is so out of whack that it will not wash a single load without going of balance. I am generally a Mr Fixit, so with the help of some web advice I opened the top and I removed the wash...

yes the balance ring is supposed to be filled with glycol..... these washers cannot runn bulky loades or single articles of clothing.... if the load your running is not coating the drum evenly the all the weight is going to be on one side of the tub which is going to spin vigrously uneven,,,

also cabrio washer top lids are very slanted which means u cant level the washer by using the top of cabinet .... put level on each side use split of cabinet top to bottom of cabinet as your straight edge for placement of level ... theb level front to back and left to right and check other side ... if it checks out level....then take a clear cup fill 3/4 with water and place 2 feet infront of washer and start washer spin cycle if you see any ripples in water in cup while washer is spinning the reinforce floor joist under washer ...

This model of washer does not have an out of balance cut off switch. If the load is not balanced properly the tub could hit the cabinet sides. If the unit spins evenly while empty & out of balance while loaded, I recommend checking & balancing the load. If the basket spins out of balance while empty, I recommend having the suspension springs & balance ring checked. Be sure not to wash light fabric with heavy fabric clothes. Also ensure that the adjustable feet are level, that's most important.

Washing machine is not ballanced. every load

There is a balance spring that keeps the machine balance. it broke or rusted and came off. Lean the machine back 45 degrees and look under
you should see the spring. reattach the spring to the base and the back. (you need to look at a manual if you dont understand) but try your best

We leveled our machine, but when we run the cycle, it begins to rattle and slams against the wall

The washer balance is mostly controlled by two factors:
  1. Balance of the appliance cabinet (shell)
  2. Suspension of the tub inside the cabinet.
As far as the cabinet is concerned, balance, level, and plumb are determined by the adjustable feet. Installers usually come in with a level and test the level (side to side parallel to ground) and plumb (front to back perpendicular to groud). Many times they overlook the corner to corner balance. I think corner to corner is more important than being plumb or level. Try adjusting.

If that doesn't solve your problem, you may want to check the tub suspension. There are shock absorbers beneath the tub that push in opposite directions to keep the tub balanced in the cabinet. You can access them by removing the front access panel (diagram below -- remove 3 screws and pull out from the bottom to let it fall down)

You will see the shock absorbers in plain view. Wiggle the tub around to see if one is any weaker than the others. If so, replace it.
