HP 6310 printer ink Level doesen't indicate any ink in printer

I purchased subject printer to replace a HP Photosmart that had used the same HP ink cartridges as the HP 6310 requires. Since the old cartridges were still over half full, I decided to use up the ink in those cartridges before replacing them with the new ones.

My ink levels have shown empty since day one although my print quality is good.

What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Slowly off and on the printer for five times without cartridge, printer saves data of cart of last 5 only so next time it reads full ink..

I have a photosmart C4700 and it won't print in black How can I tell if it's out of ink?

Follow these steps to check the ink levels: >Click Start . >Click Printers and Faxes . >Right-click the icon for your printer , and then click Printing Preferences . >Click the Features tab. >Click the Printer Services button. The Toolbox window opens. >Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab. A window opens that indicates the estimated ink level of each cartridge.
NOTE:Depending on the printer, the estimated ink level indicators can vary in appearance.
>If the ink level indicators show that a cartridge is low or empty, replace the cartridge.

Failure of Printer to Print Color

Try using a new HP ink cartridge. I had the same problem with a printer I purchased off of CraigsList even though the ink level was good. I installed a new color HP ink cartridge and it printed without a problem.

My refilled ink cartridge still displays empty and will not print

The ink cartridge is most likely chipped & you would not be able to reset the ink level. Purchase an original or a good compatible cartridge. Refiling newer cartridges is not a good idea.

Reset ink level on hp 6310 #98 cartridge I have been using refilled cartridges and the in level is ''empty'' even when the cartridge is new and just filled. how can I reset the ink level?

if you are using a refilled catridge you would not get ink levels right.
if you want right ink level use genuine ink catridges.
you can try taking out the catridges turning off the printer and turning it back on and then reinstalling the catridges.it might not help so if possible buy hp ink catridges.

Ink level didn't change

s.gif Deskjet 5100 series
  1. Click Start or c01319360.gif , click All Programs , click Hewlett-Packard , and then click Printer Assistant .
  2. Click Utilities .
  3. Click View ink levels .
    • If a cartridge is low on ink, discontinue these steps, replace the cartridge, and then try printing again.
    • If the cartridges contain a sufficient amount of ink, continue to the next step.
  4. Click Printer Maintenance .
  5. Click Clean Cartridges .
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
ISSUE: After installing a new HP Inkjet print cartridge, the ink level indicator remains at the previous level. SOLUTION: Continue to print and ignore the ink level indicator. The print cartridge is full of ink, it just is not being measured accurately.

Can't find tool box to check ink level - HP 6310 using Vista 2007

doesnt matter most printers have a feature of their own to check ink levels.
press the setup button on the printer and scroll down(with the arrow buttons) till you get tools press ok and now scroll through until you get ink level and select it by pressing the ok button, walla you should have your ink levels in front of you.

Now about the hp solution centre/hp director icon on your desktop (if you have installed the software).
Click on settings and click on printer toolbox and now check your estimated ink levels it will show the ink levels of the printer cartridges.

My HP Photosmart C6180 All in One printer is not printing ing black even though I have replaced the black ink. It will print the colour sections but comes out blank for black. Any suggestions as to what...

Remove the black cartridge from the all-in-one and clean the copper contacts of the cartridge with a soft cotton cloth and then try to align the cartridges once and then try to print the self-test page. Also check the ink level and expiry date present on the cartridge.
