Turned on printer. It completed its system check fine. One sheet of paper went through the printer with no problem. Then the error message "Paper output slot: the paper is jammed. Clear the paper and press OK" I did that multiple times and the error message reappears. I have rebooted my computer and turned the printer of at least 6 times and the error message continues to appear. What should I try next?
Re: Turned on printer. It completed its system check...
Make sure there is no paper even a small piece of it inside the printer. Open all doors and close, remove and replace cartridges and then power off and power on to printer! Most often its a minor problem can be corrected by these measures!

It is possible that there is a little peice of paper that has ripped off of the sheet that was jammed. Was the sheet whole when you removed it? If not, check the location where the paper was jammed for bits of the last sheet of paper.
Try putting more than one sheet of labels in the paper tray. Even if you're printing one label, it helps the printer grab the paper without that error somehow. If you're already using more than one sheet, I don't know. Good luck either way!!! :)
If the paper feed rollers are not clean, they may slip and cause paper feeding problems. The problem may be alleviated by performing paper feed roller cleaning.
1. Open the Printers folder.
- For Windows XP Home Edition
Click/Select "Start," "Control Panel," "Printers and Other Hardware," and "Printers and Faxes."
- For Windows XP Professional Edition
Click "Start" and "Printers and Faxes."
- For Windows 2000/Me/98
Click/Select "Start," and "Settings," then "Printers."
2. Right-click the icon of the printer for paper feed roller cleaning, and select Properties from the displayed list.
3. Click the Maintenance tab and click Roller Cleaning.
4. Remove all sheets of paper from the auto sheet feeder, and click OK.
5. Confirm the message to be displayed, and click OK. Do not try other operations until printer's operation completes.
6. When the printer's operation is completed, follow the confirmation message to load three new sheets of A4 or letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder
7. Click OK.
8. Confirm the message to be displayed, and click OK. Do not try other operations until all the three sheets are ejected.
Memo:
The printer prints nothing on those sheets.
9. When all the three sheets of the paper are ejected, paper feed roller cleaning is completed.
10. Click OK.
Performing Roller Cleaning is completed.
0x61011bef is a general error that the chipset in the printer gives instead of a "carriage jam " error message.
Double check inside the printer as well to ensure that there is no bits and peices stuck insde the printer where the carriage assembly ( where the printheads sit) check to make sure that moves freely.
as well as clean the rollers on the back of the printer... silly yes but it has been know to cause an error if there is built up paper dust on them
Opened "Control panel>printers/faxes>Printing preferences>Basic>Paper source, and selected Tray 1 for all pages. Then went into the print menu in Adobe Reader, wich is where I was trying to print from originally, and deselected "choose paper source by PDF page size. It seemed to work.
Try a hardware check of the printer first. To check the hardware of the printer, do the following:
Switch off the printer.
Load one sheet of paper into the paper feeder.
Press the Power button and the PaperFeed button at the same time and hold them both down for three seconds. Then release the Power button only.
When the printer begins to print, release the PaperFeed button. A page will be printed. The page should contain some text at the top and a series of horizontal color lines (cyan, magenta and yellow) below the text, with a thick black line below the colored lines. All the lines should be solid.
When the test is complete, switch off the printer. NOTE: If you do not switch off the printer, it will continue to print.
Hi guys, I eventually found a solution to the problem for my printer. With the top cover open, I pushed a sheet of 120 micron thickness A4 clear plastic binding cover through the exit tray as far as it would go to rest against the bottom row of rollers. I switched the printer off then back on again and as the rollers lifted momentarily, I pushed the sheet of plastic as far up through the machine as I could before the rollers went down again - it went in a fair distance. The printer then ejected the plastic sheet. I then put the plastic sheet into the paper tray and tried to print a blank document page. The plastic fed through cleanly and my printer has been working since without any error messages. I hope this works for you.
