Canon PIXMA MP460 All-In-One InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
Canon mp495 keeps jamming.
After searching the net for help and trying many things like unpluging the printer, taking out the ink cartridges, blowing and hooving the printer etc etc and still not having any luck. I tried something myself and it worked. This is what I did:- I got several sheets of A4 paper and forced them into the printer just enough to get the rollers to bite. (Printer is off at this stage) Once the paper is in I turned the printer back on and the printer pulled the paper through and out of the front clearing the problem.Well this worked for and I hope it helps someone else. HOW RESET INK RESERVE
I am assuming this has occurred because you have either refilled an original cartridge or bought after market cartridges that Canon does not recognize. Manufacturers don't like us doing that - after all, they sell us the printers at a loss and expect to get their money back with all the overpriced ink we will have to buy later on. That said, I was able to find this info on another site. I don't guarantee it will work. Read carefully, there are a few warnings in the procedure. Use at your own risk.
Try this:
1. Turn off the printer
2. Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click "Power") an indicator light green.
3. Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.
4. Not releasing the Power Button, double click "Resume" and release Both Buttons.
5. Click "Resume" for Four times
6. Once you click "Power", to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.
If that doesn't work, then try changing the printer setup as below.
Case 1) When the window of "Ink is running low" appears.
- Click the 'OK' or 'out of paper' button on your printer
- When the window of 'Ink has run out' appears, follow the procedures
'Case 2' below.
Case 2) When the window of "Ink has run out" appears.
- Click the 'Yes' button on the window.
- When the massage of "Press and hold the 'Stop/ Reset' button...."
appears, press and hold the 'Stop/ Reset' or 'out of paper' button
on your printer for 10 seconds.
Before using the printer, run the "head cleaning" process.
?? Warning: The level warning system of the refilled cartridge will be
deactivated permanently. Refill the cartridge only when the print quality
begins to deteriorate and the cartridge is actually out of ink.

How do I fix a Canon MP460 printer that feeds multiple sheets at a time, even for a one-page document, causing a paper jam?
Assumed you have cleaned out the feeding slot and sprockets that turn the feeder wheels. Often there's some piece of paper or gunk. One option that likely applies to most printers -- from another HP online source: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00190540&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
- Look for paper that might have jammed inside the product. Use a flashlight to carefully view the areas around the rollers. Remove all traces of paper found.
- Wipe the rubber paper-feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers up carefully to clean all the way around.
- Look for the paper pick roller farther inside the rear access area.
The paper pick roller
IMPORTANT : The paper pick roller is a bit more difficult to reach; however, it is the most important part to clean. Make sure to clean it thoroughly. If this roller is not clean, the issue will likely continue.
- Clean the paper pick roller with a cotton swab moistened with distilled or bottled water. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to make sure that you remove all debris. Clean the roller thoroughly all the way around.

- Make sure that the rollers on the rear access door or duplexer are clean and in good condition. If any are missing, stuck, or loose, replace the rear access door or duplexer with a new one.

- Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door or duplexer.
Slide the rear access door or duplexer into place, and then gently push it in until it clicks or snaps into place.
