my printer became paused and i am unable to print any thing

First, replace the toner cartridge for a new one (Q2612A)
If not work, clean the laser/scanner lens.

Run a half test.
Put paper in the manual feed tray.
Print something, anything
When the paper is 1/2 way into the printer, open the cover.
Pull out the toner cartridge. Look down at the paper.
Does it have a black line on the right side?
If yes, replace the cartridge. If no, replace the fuser.

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software or any associated printer driver software from the PC. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties. If not there are errors in the mother board.

This document provides information about replacing the print cartridge for the HP LaserJet 1010 printer series, including life expectancy and replacement instructions. Print cartridge life expectancy The life of the print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that your print jobs require. When printing text on letter/A4-size paper at five percent coverage, the print cartridge lasts an average of 2,000 pages. This assumes that you set the print density to three and disable EconoMode. (These are the default settings.) See Ordering supplies for information on ordering replacement print cartridges. Changing the print cartridge Follow the below instructions to change the print cartridge:

1. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. Figure 1: Removing old print cartridge CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper.
2. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging, and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. Figure 2: Gently shaking new print cartridge
3. Pull the tab until all the tape is removed from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling. Figure 3: Removing tape from print cartridge
4. Insert the print cartridge in the printer, making sure that the print cartridge is in position. Close the print cartridge door. Figure 4: Inserting new print cartridge

Hi,
2 Cables are required. First to connect the printer to the computer (USB Cable) and second to connect the printer to the power source (Power Cable). These can be bought from any Computer Accessories store. Below is the picture of the USB cable. The normal USB plug (on the left) goes to the USB Post of the PC and the square one at the right should be connected to the printer.

sometime, it is very silly but true, we forget to check the connectivity of the printer to computer. Plz check unplugin and plug in back the cable attched to printer and computer. Then restarting both computer and printer. If that does not solve, then uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

With just a few pages in the tray, send a job to the printer and at the same time look into the printer where the paper is. You will see if the paper pickup roller turns or not.
If the paper tray rises to where the pickup roller is and the pickup roller rotates then the problem is that you have a worn or dirty roller. The roller can be cleaned with a number of liquids but try warn water on a cloth first. Also if yiou take the toner cartridge out, you will have clear access to remove the roller or clean it. I have also removed the roller and then rotated the rubber tyre a little so that the worn part is not in use.
