WRT54GS may be more reliable router and you can continue to use it. Try power cycle first check cables! If no improvement you can reset! that will bring it factory default!
Other important matter is check the firmware upgrading firmware is a good solution for these kind of problems!
Currently available routers are much better if you are willing to get a new router N router is the way to go! They wider area coverage and faster network speeds!

Hello i have reset my router and now cannot

From my understanding you have lost or forgotten your wireless password and or router login settings. You are able to reset this to factory default by locating the reset pin in the back. Once this is located you are going to want to grab a pin, paper clip, something of this sort. You will want to insert this object into the reset hole for 30 seconds and release. Your router should be back to default. Next open a web browser window on the connected computer and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press enter. A window will pop up prompting you for a username and password to access the configuration page for your router. Enter admin for both the username and password. With the defualt settings your password may be blanked out. You are able to setup your wireless network name and password again. I hope this has helped

Unfortunately, no. The only way to access your network again is to reset the router by holding down the reset button on the back (you might need to unplug it, then plug it back in while holding the reset button). That will reset your web interface (navigate to 192.168.1.1 in your browser while connected to the router)'s username and password to some form of the following:

Username: admin
Password: admin
Username: admin
Password: password
Username: admin
Password:

NOTE: The last combination is a blank password.

Once you've entered your router's web utility, you can set up your wireless again. Don't forget to write down the password...I wrote mine on the router itself, because honestly nobody can see it because it's in my house, so I don't have to worry about it being stolen.

Hi I am trying to fix

Hi there. My guess is it's the drivers. Sometimes windows update doesn't use the best driver for the product. I would find out what wireless and wired network cards he has and then search the original manufacturers website for the driver. You can find out about the name and manufacturer through device manager. Alex

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

How do I connect to my computer with AT & T

If you just bought the router, you will need to insert the router between your computer and your ATT DSL Modem. The cable from the wall goes into the modem (should already be that way) then the Ethernet cable from the modem should now go to the source of your Linksys Router. then use one of the ethernet ports from your router into the ethernet port on the back of your computer tower.

Use the documentation that came with the Linksys for more information on setting it up.

Good Luck

My Wireless-G router (WRT54GS) is working fine but

The router won't have anything to do with what your search results are (I have the same router.) However, depending on how long this has been going on, your internet provider may be having some technical issues, and will be resolved quickly. The problem with your internet bringing you to strange websites that you didn't intend to go to is quite odd, I would attempt a virus scan just to make sure something isn't trying to harm your computer.
