2005 GMC Envoy XL 4WD is stuck in neutral. How do l get it unstuck?
Q1: REVERSE IS DEAD TOO?>
no VIN told or if transmission is automatic. or manual
no engine told of 3 and tranny size matches engine power
4L60-e transmission is on 5.0L gm engine.
I think most Envoy are A/T boxes. USA, shows this .
PRNDL. Reverse. Drive and Low fail? say those words
is east,.
the transmission needs service, vast problems possible
they are complex.
causes, top:(SCAN THE PCM IS WISE SEE IF IT SEES A HUGE PROBLEM THERE.) BUT REVERSE DEAD IS A VERY BAD SIGN. SCAN THE PCM FOR SOLENOID ERRORS!
- ATF oil leaked out of box and now dry, diP stick it? ATF smells burnt or looks like TAG is bad news. or metal flakes in the ATF DRIPPED TO A SHEET OF PAPER.
- fuses blown but most time reverse still works.!!!
- transmission shift linkage failed. (the service manual covers the steps to check that, Read the SM?)
- transmission shift solenoids bad. (reverse? has none)
- transmission is bad. (means removal time)
NOW IF REVERSE FAILS
ALL THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO ATTAIN IT.
you asked so here is a complex answer, (not all)
AND LOTS MORE TO FAIL.

Fuel pump control module location 2008 GMC Acadia
OK NOW A SYMPTOM. CRANKS BUT WILL NOT STARTkey is bad,IMMO lamp glowing telling you the key is bad.do you have 5 pound key chain that wrecks all car locks? my guess no but the battery in truck is low underhood, 12vdc,car has Throttle Actuator Control throttle by wire and will not start or only idles or limits speed to 20mph if it fails TBW, TBW (TAC) has many failure modes and one is not to drive over people if Throttle pots (x4 )say its at WOTwide open throttle. or the silly motor fail and is jammed i the TB throttle body.there are 50 causes of no starts.and up to 20 tests to find it using real tools.guessing 49 times is costly.I never pull any pump on a whim and take bath in fuel the pump tests are easy on car ask.the PCM cuts fuel for many reasons, 6 at least.IMMO tops the list.fuses blownlean the PCM now,. do not fail to scan any modern car or go broke fast or have huge down times and piles of wasted labor or worse add wrong or bad parts or not calibrating them first. per service manual...SCAN ITI CRANK IT AND AT STALL i SCAN IT. NOW, KEY STILL ON AND THE DTC'SROLL OUT , MOST THE TIME.

Gmc acadia p0420 after replacing 02sensors which catalytic converter is p0420 p0420
wow no year car told. now that is a Hard row to hoe.. 2007 to NOW.
no engine told and cats are designed for engine and smog ,in one countries laws.
reset the all DTC errors via button on scan tool;
then drive see if P0420 comes back, first
not buy $400 cat on a whim./
I roll the dice, see 10, 2010
and answer. and LY7 engine V6 (there are others)
DTC P0420: Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 1
DTC P0430: Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2
bank 1 means , that bank that contains cylinder #1
where is cylinder #1 it on all V engines, that cylinder that is MOST forward.
all cyl 1 are offset front
never post about cars and no year or engine told or post #8th digit of VIN this is engine code, so answer and be correct. (USA answer me only)

2006 GMC canyon. 3.5 litre. Blows reverse light fuse
easy as eating cherry pie.
wrong fuse there, 1amp is dead wrong, only oem size is allowed
the Reverse feed is shorted.
only where is the conundrum.? sure rear but wear.)
trailer hitch hacks top the cause.
shorted lamps sockets rear
shorted lamps did know they short easy when abused (twisted, by noobs too hard)
or LED upgrades using cheap C-H-I-N-A upgrades, that love to short at the drop of a hat, remove the upgrade that was really a down grade. BOOM
collision damage not fully cured, (endless)
some on hacked up the PRNDL switch and the R pin is shorted.

2992 gmc Yukon xl a security light
2992 , ARE YOU CAPTAIN KIRK, TRAVELING 969 YEARS IN TO THE FUTURE OR MICHEAL J. FOX?
CAN I WATCH? LOL !!!!!!!!!!!
2002 SURE.
xl 1500 OR XL 2500 WHICH IS IT?
engine starts and drives? sure as RPM guage works.
ALL FUSES GOOD IN ALL BOXES ?????????
YOU CAN NOT DO THAT.
THE CLUSTER IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY AT ALL IN THE USA
THE CLUSTER AND PCM ARE MARRIED FOR ODOMETER LAWS.
but oddly not this truck , IPC is master of ODOM it seems.
MY GUESS IS BOUGHT THE TRUCK DEAD LIKE THIS.
HOW KNOWS WHAT OTHERS DID, ENDLESS AND BAD.
ABS NEEDS ITS OWN SCAN WITH A REAL ABS SCAN TOO,.
ABS FUSE BLOWN 60AMPS
IP BOX AIR BAG FUSE BLOWN. 15AMP
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, IF PCM WILL NOT SHOW ABS STATUS.
SAME WITH SRS BAGS IT MUST BE SRS SCANNED.
IS ODOMETER IS DEAD ?
DO NOT IGNORE SHORTED 02 SENSORS, THEY LOVE TO.
AND IS SUPER BAD FOR POWER BUS BUT There are 2x, 02 fuses.
the cluster uses RADIO FUse 15amp under hold box
cigar fuse not blow or scan port fails at pin 16.DLC obd2.
this truck is complex ,lost of things to short out fuses are FIRST
all of them checked first, a 20cent fix each one found.
saving endless labor. barking up wrong trees, (pun intended)
Cluster facts. real name GM IPC
3 fuses.IN IP box AND 1 IN HOOD BOX.
cruise,IGN0, IGN1 all good and radio fuse (hood) good
if radio blows the info display goes dead."MESSAGES"
G103 ground to IPC good
the cluster is 99% pure digital and runs off serial data from pcm and more, the 1% are some simple lamps
Turn sigs
CEL is PCM controlled
100 $% digital Odometer and trip, display
no why that works with IPC swaps
hints from the web
Mileage in full size trucks is kept only in the IPC, instrument panel cluster. The Colorado and
Canyon are kept in the BCM..
the rebuilder said
VIN/mileage required to order!
SO IT SEEMS THE IPC IS MASTER OF ODOM AND TELLS THE PCM MILES
BUT VIN CODES CAN BE PROBLEM STORED AND NOT EQUAL.
2001 GMC Sonoma SLS. The blinkers stopped working. Dash indicator not lighting up.
Question edited for maker, clarity and typos.
Question moved to model category.
The clock spring only involves the horn, the air bag and any controls that are on the moveable part of the steering wheel. If the switch is on the steering column it is likely to be the switch. What you can try first is undoing connectors from the steering column, spray them with electrical contact cleaner and remake the connection.
For the dash lights, check the dimmer wheel.

I have a 2009 GMC canyon that has no throttle response
Is the check engine light on, or yellow wrench light symbol? Hook up a professional grade scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . No throttle response , problem with electric throttle control . Two position sensors in gas pedal assembly - two position sensors in the electronic throttle body - plus a DC motor to control throttle plate position. Other poster has no clue. Dirty throttle body would not cause no throttle response, rough or unstable idle for sure.

2009 GMC Acadia rpm is running high and giving p0497 code
hot or cold engine High and how high is RPM not told.
no it is not evap failing to cause RPM failures.
2 problems sure, but not THE problem
well gas cap loose or bad is first. simple fix that is
costs nothing, and cap good or cap bad $10 fix.but not RPM off.
then purge solenoid.
RPM high is the best clue here. for sure
mine fails every 50k miles it seems and pull the valve
and flex the valve inside while spraying silicon oil spray inside it
and it goes 50k more miles costing me 50 cents lube.
497
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System No Flow During Purge
the test in the service manual are extensive
example
- A loose, missing, or damaged fuel fill cap can cause this DTC to set.
- A stuck closed, blocked, or restricted EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, can cause this DTC to set.
- A blockage or restriction in the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve vacuum supply hose, EVAP canister purge solenoid valve purge pipe, EVAP canister, or vapor pipe, can cause this DTC to set.
- A temporary blockage in the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, purge pipe or EVAP canister could cause an intermittent condition. Inspect and repair any restriction in the EVAP system.
- To help locate intermittent leaks, use the J 41413-200 Evaporative Emissions System Tester (EEST) to introduce smoke into the EVAP system. Move all EVAP components while observing smoke with the J 41413-SPT High Intensity White Light. Introducing smoke in 15 second intervals will allow less pressure into the EVAP system. When the system is less pressurized, the smoke will sometimes escape in a more condensed manner.
- To improve the visibility of the smoke exiting the EVAP system, observe the suspected leak area from different angles with the J 41413-SPT .
- Observe the Freeze Frame/Failure Records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed may help determine how often the condition occurs that caused the DTC to set. This may assist in diagnosing the condition.
the valve is here "P"
#10 if it leaks running, stuck open rpm can go wild
or the hose to it is cracked

2011 GMC Acadia. Torque specs on catalytic converter for Acadia please?
The torque specifications for the catalytic converter on a 2011 GMC Acadia can vary depending on the specific model and engine type. However, the general torque specifications for the catalytic converter flange bolts on this vehicle are typically around 37-45 lb-ft.
It's important to note that these torque specifications are for general guidance only, and you should always consult the manufacturer's service manual or a qualified mechanic to ensure that you are using the correct torque values for your specific vehicle and application.
Additionally, it's important to use a torque wrench when installing or tightening the bolts on the catalytic converter to ensure that the correct torque is applied and to avoid over-tightening or under-tightening, which can lead to issues such as exhaust leaks or damage to the exhaust system.
