Incomplete monitors :catalyst 2004 envoy emmisions fail ?
After the MIL is turned off or the battery was disconnected for some time, all monitors are set to incomplete. However with several short trips with engine getting at least to hot enough for thermostat to open, (I believe 8 is the magic number of trips) most monitors are set, you may be able to pass the test with only one incomplete only.
I am having GMC ENVOY
The 2004 Envoy has a problem with the transmission failing. It could be an electronics problem, but it sounds as though there is no pressure in the transmisssion, perhaps a bad pump.
How do you change brakes on a 2003 gmc envoy
don't need any special tools, standard sockets sets, "C" clams is a must unless your a He-Man and wrench set, plyer or needle nose will do. I assumed being 2003 your rotor never have been turn and i recommend every time you change your bakes is good idea to have your rotor turn. reason is it will make your pad last lot longer, removed any vibration and better even wear on the pad and eliminate any squealing although is not necessary to do so. make sure you get extra break fluid to bleed the brakes. get your self 5 feet long smallest vacum rubber hoses and a glass jar to bleed your brake fluid in. the rubber vacum hose you going to use to fit on to the bleeding nipple and run the other end of line to your the glass jar to save the brake fluid when you bleed the brakes. when removing caliper, check inspect make sure the rubber seals around your piston look good and not crack or deteriorated. before applying new pad make sure you open the bleed valve to reduce the pressure by turning the bleed nipple counter clockwise and leave it open attach that rubber hoses to the nipple because you going to press on the piston back into it housing with the "C" clamp in order for new pad to fit. becareful not to damage the rubber seals around the piston. its going to take lots of effort to push that piston back in so be a bare with it if needs to. once the pad is back in make sure you keep the reservoir full with brake fluid and then bleed the brake. two people is a good idea to do brake. one will do the pumping the brake and holding it down and other will bleed the nipple. I bleed it 2-3 time will do the job. good luck!

2004 GMC Envoy XUV tailgate won't open downward
Do you live in a dusty area? My sister lives in dusty New Mexico and had a malfunctioning XUV tailgate. My reasoning was that something must tell the tailgate not to drop down if the glass is up, and if it can't tell, then it will only open sideways.
So we removed the trim panel, and the tailgate was indeed full of dust. By reaching my arm in, I found two plastic optical sensors which tell the gate whether the glass is up or down; both were coated with dust. After cleaning these the tailgate was back to its normal operation. The two sensors are flat, round - about the size of a nickel or dime...I couldn't see them, just found them by guessing that they must be there. Hope this helps!
What cause a power steering pump shaft to break on a 2004 GMC envoy?
When you place the wheel in a hard lock position ,the power steering pump relies on the pressure by-pass valve to operate instead of the valves in the steering box to open and allow the pressure to by-pass back to the reservoir.. When you hit hard lock and you hear the motor load up just ease on the turn and the pump will operate as designed. The turn will still be the same -just that the pump is not under full load . Breaking the shaft is a sign of excessive load and a misaligned pulley so check that the belt is directly in line and the pump is square to the belt line.

This will help.Thanks
2004 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter
Pump replacement is fairly involved, but the issue is rarely the pump, as it is pretty indestructable. If you have low pressure, usually some clearances are too loose, somewhere. There is also sending unit issues, so measure your pressure with an external "known good" gauge.
