When the paper does not feed straight, dirty or stickyrollers can cause it to jamb or crinkle, also failure to remove all traces ofpaper from a previous paper jamb will cause further paper jambs.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper. The rollers may be dirty or sticky and causes the paper tonot feed straight.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits.

Crooked feeder paper

Sounds like the rubber rollers that grab the paper are dirty, and one is not grabbing well. Clean them, and your paper will probably feed correctly.

From Support information I found on the Canon website, the paper feed rollers of your PIXMA iP1900 may need cleaning.

Source:

The feed roller cleaning function allows you to ckean the paper feed roller. perform feed roller cleantng when there are paper particles sticking to the paper feed roller and paper is not fed properly.
The procedure for cleaning the feed rollers is as follows:

1.Prepare the printer
Remove all sheets of paper from the rear tray.
2.Open the printer driver setup window
3.Click Roller Cleaning on the Maintenance tab
The confirmation message appears.
4.Execute paper feed roller cleaning
Make sure that the printer is on and click OK.
Paper feed roller cleaning starts.
5.Complete paper feed roller cleaning
After the rollers have stopped, follow the instruction in the message, load three sheets of plain paper into the rear tray, and click OK.
Paper will be ejected and feed roller cleaning will be completed.

The printer won't feed the paper in properly. It turns crooked and then doesn't load in. Printer thinks there is either no paper or a jam. Can see anything physically in the way blocking the...

Hi Trevo
First, check the the paper guide in the feed tray is up against the edge of the paper. If it is not snug then the paper will skew.
If it is OK then check with a torch both sides of the paper path - where it goes in and where it comes out.
I've found bits in the path before now that are not seen at first.
This printer may have a removeable panel at the back where you can check a bit more easily.

Starts to feed paper and then stops and says it is jammed, it's not.

We have become aware of an incompatibility between the ZoomAlbum software and the Canon PIXMA printers listed below. This issue applies only when using the ZoomAlbum software to print Photo Album covers with Mac OS X.
Affected Models
PIXMA MP240, MP250, MP480, MP490, MP560, MP620, MP640, MP980, MP990, MX320, MX330, MX860, iP3600, iP4600, iP4700 Printers
Phenomenon
The affected PIXMA printers are designed to feed paper via the rear tray with a center-feed mechanism and two paper guides. However, the ZoomAlbum software was intended to feed paper from the rear tray in printers with a right-feed mechanism and a single paper guide. As a result, when using the ZoomAlbum software with Mac OS X to print Photo Album covers with the affected Canon PIXMA printers, the printed image may shift.
adv_zoomalbum_1.jpg Countermeasure
To remedy this problem, please use the following settings when printing Photo Album covers with Mac OS X:
1. Click System Preferences
2. Click Print & Fax
3. Select your Canon PIXMA printer as the default printer
4. Select DL Envelope for Default Paper Size in Page Setup
Note: Be sure to change the Default Paper Size back to Letter after printing the cover.

Paper not feeding properly, sometimes it goes through crooked and sometimes it isn't grabbed and put through printer

The little wheels that 'grab' the paper sometimes become too smooth and will simply slip on paper. There is wheel rejuvenator you might find at a local stationary store or you might want to try an alcohol soaked q-tip on the wheels.

Canon ip2600 keeps grabbing the paper wrong, only grabs it on the right side so it feeds in crooked and jams.

you need to see the left roller and determine if broken or needs cleaned. to clean use an eraser, thats the best way. if broken i suggest new printer. have a great day and please rate bama46, thanks.

Paper feeds crooked, then stops. I can't find the users manual. Do I need to clean the rollers?

you may need to replace the rollers. if its feeding crooked it sounds like one of the rollers isnt grabbing which means its either worn or possibly a tension setting.

Paper does not feed - GRABS RIGHT SIDE

gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.
