That happens because you connected the printer before installing the driver.

Do a system restore to a day before you connected the printer for the first time, then reinstall drivers from disk with usb unplugged.

If the disk does not work , you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Canon recommends genuine canon ink jet cartridges. If you bought a remanufactured ink jet cartridge and it did this, I would return it immediately.

But, since you filled it yourself, there's no recourse with the ink company, I don't believe.

Even if you were successful with refilling, they can only be refilled 2 or 3 times at best.

Go to the Applications folder and then the utilities folder. As long as you have installed all the appropriate software (if not go to the canon website and download the software) there should be a utility called Printer Setup or possibly called Printer Centre. Select your IP2000 from the name list and then click on Utility or Configure, then select your IP2000 from the Product List and click maintenance. Then select Cleaning from the pop-up menu and then click cleaning. When the confirmation message is displayed click OK.

Needs resetting at best.....perhaps it might shut down completely.....I had the same problem then my printer completely shut down!
