Belkin N1 Vision Wireless Router Logo
Posted on Mar 08, 2011

My internet is greatly reduced with Belkin N1 vision wireless (before the hook-up it was 15mbps now only 5mbps), I have tested by hooking directly from the modem to the computer and got 15mbps. Before N1, I had Belkin G plus wireless MIMO with no problems. Any ideas?

When you only get 5 mbps are you connecting to the new router wirelessly or via the ethernet cable? If it is wirelessly then try connecting with an ethernet cable and see if you still get 5 mbps. If so then try resetting the router (the procedures for this will be explained in the manual) and re-test. Wireless connections can slow down due to obstacles such as thick walls or other obstacles of that type. If all else fails return the unit and try another.

How many pc's, laptop's & printer's can i link up to belkin n1 vision wireless router model f5d8232-4

You can uplink a fairly good number of PCs or laptops with Belkin N1 as it supports high bandwidth. Keep in mind that upon adding every new PC, the overall bandwidth for the other PCs is reduced. If the PCs/ laptops do not require much bandwidth, you can connect / add more PCs to the network.
Generally, I have uplinked upto 10-15 clients to one router and the network worked just fine. It all depends upon the network environment and the bandwidth usage by each client PC. If the PCs are using just email and simple internet browsing (and remain idle for most of the time), you can add more clients to your network as not all the systems consume network resources at the same time.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Can I use my belkin N1 Vision as a bridge?

It can't be used as a bridge but you can use it as an Access Point. All you need to do is disable the DHCP server of the router and don't use the Internet/WAN port
