Do not receive emails

Probably the router is blocking the port that is used to receive emails. Are you using an email client to send/received your mails like Outlook? Does it work with out the router in place? You might wanna try changing the receiving port if you are using an email client. You can change it to 2525.

N1 Vision won't boot up...

I searched for solution for some hours and find only questions, no usable answer.

So I had to start debugging myself.

Symptoms:

Router just stopped working one day by itself.

On boot the progress bar goes about 20% and hangs forever.

Screen backlight is wobbling a little.

What I did:

I cracked the router open and found that four of the capacitors were ballooned:

I changed the capacitors(470mF 6,3v or higher - about 1eur total sum.) and the router booted up once as new. Next time same problem - it boots on 20% and hangs.

That was the time I noticed that the screen was wobbling and I tested the router with another power adapter and voila - problem was finally fixed.

So, to fix the problem:

  1. Try with another power adapter.
  2. If that does not help, crack the router open and change those ballooned capacitors:

How many pc's, laptop's & printer's can i link

You can uplink a fairly good number of PCs or laptops with Belkin N1 as it supports high bandwidth. Keep in mind that upon adding every new PC, the overall bandwidth for the other PCs is reduced. If the PCs/ laptops do not require much bandwidth, you can connect / add more PCs to the network.
Generally, I have uplinked upto 10-15 clients to one router and the network worked just fine. It all depends upon the network environment and the bandwidth usage by each client PC. If the PCs are using just email and simple internet browsing (and remain idle for most of the time), you can add more clients to your network as not all the systems consume network resources at the same time.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

My internet is greatly reduced with Belkin N1

When you only get 5 mbps are you connecting to the new router wirelessly or via the ethernet cable? If it is wirelessly then try connecting with an ethernet cable and see if you still get 5 mbps. If so then try resetting the router (the procedures for this will be explained in the manual) and re-test. Wireless connections can slow down due to obstacles such as thick walls or other obstacles of that type. If all else fails return the unit and try another.
