SC101 indicates and exposure lamp problem. To try and correct, turn OFF the copier and then unplug from the wall. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back into the wall, then turn on the copier. Watch to see if the exposure lamp comes on - lift the document handler if you want. If the exposure lamp is working correctly, the scanner will briefly move to the right and the light will turn on then off after it moves to the left.

I have the similar problem with SC101 when dealing with AFICIO 700 and 650 unit. The exposure lamp light up but the scanne is not moving from to the right. Light then off. Can this be white level not detected - can it be solved easily by changing SBU (CCD) or cleaning exposure glass and the 3 mirrors to remove the static contents. Sill not working.

How to check exposure lamp on ricoh sc101?

Clean the true white on the slit glass housing. Check for a dirty scanner mirror or that the scanner mirror is out of position. Also, check if the scanner is blocked or if the dirty white plate underneath the glass is obstructed. Try cleaning the glass with water. To reset this error try the code:

"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.

Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

I have a Nashua sc550 Aficio 1013. Its displaying error SC550. message displayed is "Functional problems, turn off main power switch then on again. If error reoccur, call service" Best regards

Your question is somewhat confusing as to the model. There is no Nashua SC550 as that seems to be the service code you have an issue with. There is a model 1013F but there is no SC550 code for that machine. That being said I will tell you what an SC550 code means on most all Ricoh, Gestetner,Nashuatec machines. The SC550 means your fuser oil/cleaning web life is over. The solution for this is to replace the web and then reset the counter which requires entry into the service mode. Both of these are going to require a service technician to complete.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Even though my RICOH Aficio 1013 appears to be an ALL-IN-ONE, the ONLY function it now porforms that of a copier. What components do I need to add or install to get to function as a printer, scanner, &...

It would be cheaper to find a 1013spf meaning scan, print, fax. Finding all of the boards, wiring harness, ROM chips and control panel buttons needed to convert your machine would be pricy. Then you would need a service tech to install everything as well. You can find the "spf" versions used for less than $1,000 and you could get around $500 for yours.

Am having ricoh 1013 photocopier, and its giving an error message that "functional error, switch off mainpower and on"!

Low fusing temperature. Either the thermistor is bad or power supply board (unlikely). Service code can only be reset in service mode by a technician after problem is fixed

Message SC101 Functional Problems

If the lamp does come on, remove the left side that holds the glass in place. It usually has the markings for where to place your origonal. Under it you will find a white strip of plastic tape, clean this. that is how it sets its lamp reference. This will usually work for a weak lamp.

Ok, its a firmware bug, but you should be able to reset it. Press clear modes, 1, 0, 7, and press and hold clear/stop. Press 1 for copy sp. Scroll down to 7, (data log) press 7. scroll to 7807, and reset it. exit all the way out, and recycle the power.
