Drive in to one of the bigger parts stores like Pep Boys, or Autozone, and they will scan for codes free of charge. Once you get code(s) that should point everyone in right direction of malfunctioning part(s). If not, get back to us with that code(s) and we will further assist you. Much quicker and cheaper and less guessing that way.

SOURCE: 2005 chrysler sebring malfunction light is on

Could be a bad battery connection. Your fuel system may be going bad. Might have a faulty coolant temperature or intake air temp sensor. Could even be a MAP sensor. Is your check engine light on?

My 2004 sebring stalls and will not crank for hours it stalls while driveing or setting still

If it usually starts when cold, but when fails hot will not start until totally cold, suspect bad coil, ignition module or other electronic sensor on engine such as crank or cam sensor. Testing individual parts often is difficult, because part only fails when hot.

2005 crysler sebring 4 cyl no start p 0340 code changed camshaft position sensor still no start. key engaged engin turn over, fuel present, no start, occasionally get a small backfire. HELP!!!

Try substatutting the ignition module with a known goog one. Also have the camshaft CIRCUIT checked at the camshsft sensor plug in, for propper voltage. The code P0340 indicates a circuit malfunction not a sensor malfunction. Good luck.

Car stalls when cold, only generally first start of each day.

My 2007 Sebring with the 2.4L World Engine had a similar problem when shifted from reverse to drive when engine was stone cold. The engine either hesitated significantly or stalled. Brought it back to the dealer and they found a TSB and installed new flash in the Powertrain Module. Never hesitated or stalled after they installed the new software.

2001 sebring 2.7l runs perfect ice cold but as

Your temp sensor is the fault. Replace it and problem solved.

The sensor is telling the ECU (brain) that the engine is cold even when it is hot.

I bought my 2005 sebring a year ago and it is due for smog check.I put 3,000 miles on the 2.7 litre engine in the last year and it now has 36,000 miles.A couple months ago the malfunction yellow light came...

the 2.7l has a sludge problem. This could cause the stalling and loss of power. There's a few fixes, the new water pump (which is part of the problem) doesn't dump coolant into the oil pan. Easy way to check is to simply drop the oil pan.

Knock sensor

The knock sensor threads into the side of the cylinder block.
  1. Disconnect electrical connector from knock sensor.
  2. Use a crow foot socket to remove the knock sensors.
INSTALLATION
The knock sensor threads into the side of the cylinder block in front of the starter.

  1. Install knock sensor. Tighten knock sensor to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.) torque. Over or under tightening effects knock sensor performance, possibly causing improper spark control.
  2. Attach electrical connector to knock sensor
