On a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe lxi 3.0 where is the O2 "oxygen sensor" physically located, computer says bank1 sensor2. I know Bank 1 is the side where the #1 cylinder is which I "think" is on the firewall side? Someone on this site previously said in another answer it's located on the exhaust manifold at the firewall, sensor 2 is the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter but that is under the car and not at the firewall. There is a sensor on the exhaust manifold at the firewall but it's not an O2 sensor or every part supplier has been wrong giving me a replacement part with the wrong harness plug. What is the sensor that is by the firewall in the exhaust that looks like an O2 sensor but has a different plug to the harness, if I recall correctly that one has a 3 prong triangle shape to it where the O2 sensor is rectangle with 4 prongs. Any help please...

    Unfortunately it is not an O2 sensor, I went as far as to remove the sensor and compare it to all the O2 sensors available for the vehicle at the part store and it aint it. The O2 sensors have 4 wire connections on this car, the sensor by the firewall is triangle shape with only 3 wires.

The only sensor that would be on your manifold would be the o2 sensor ihave an intrepid i have four, two converters. 1 before each converter and 1 after each converter. fronts are 1s and backs are 2s all are 4 prong maybe your backs are threes you will need to investigate a little more after all we are dealing with pretty much the same car same year

Where is bank 2 sensor 2 on a 2002 Sebring lxi 3.0 two dr coupe ?

This should be the O2 sensor on the passenger side, after the converter. Its job is to report to the ECU on exhaust after passing through the converter, so has no effect on the way the car runs, but just reports on how the converter is doing its job.

I have a 2001 chevy impala 3.4. I am trying to locate the oxygen sensor. Sensor 1 Bank 1

Bank1 ---is always the side of the engine cylinder #1 is on
Bank 2 --- the other side

Sensor1---the ones closest to the engine either in or just before the converter
Sensor2 --- is the down stream or monitor sensor in the outlet of converter

Just replace all upstream O2 Sensors,ones before the converter by 100,000
miles or in your case when they fail

Only a guess but #1 may be on the left side,you don't do just one if you have more
You don't need to do the rear sensors though

2001tiburoncomputor codes, po136 & 141 what do they refer to.

P0136 = Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank1, Sensor2)
P0141 = Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank1, Sensor2)

CHECK WIRING BEFORE REPLACING SENSORS

If 4 cylinder engine, there are only two O2 Sensors - Sensor 1 is on top, Sensor 2 is at the bottom

If 6 cylinder, there are four (4) O2 sensors (Bank1, Sensor2 is on the firewall side of this engine and is referred to as the 'DOWNSTREAM' sensor (the one AFTER the Catalytic Converter)

Picture of bank1 sensor1 o2 sensor location on 2001 chrysler town & country

I do not have a diagram but, bank 1 is the bank where #1 cylinder is at. other side would be bank #2. so bank #1 o2 sensor is just before convertor.

How do you know which o2 sensor is bank 1 sensor1

sure do. the bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust pipe on the same side as the number 1 cylinder. So if the number 1 cylinder is on the driver's side, then the bank 1 sensor will be the forward most oxygen sensor on the drivers side, then next one in line will be the bank 1 sensor 2. Obviously, the other side will be bank 2, sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 2.....good luck!
