are you working on my problem?

  • Wale Sarumi KomputerSolution

    Hello,

If the first post does not solve the problem, then try resetting the printer:

    1, Power off the printer

2, Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.

3, Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps

    4, Release the Power Button

This will reset the printer and should resolve error problem.

    Take care.

Hello, Dawn.

That error is typically an Ink Tank Position Sensor error. So, the Platen unit and Logic board assembly would probably need to be replaced.

If your printer is under warranty, return it for a repair or replacement.

If not, contact a local service center for an estimate of the repair cost.

Hope this helps.

aloha, It is not under warranty. there is no local printer repair facility here. I live in Kauai.
I don't think that Canon will want to repair it since I have been using refillable cazrtridgex from the Printer filling station. any other ideas?

  • Anonymous Aug 12, 2010

No, I'm sorry. Your printer needs to be repaired or recycled, if not repaired. Not what you wanted to hear. And, I imagine that it would be costly to send out for repair, given your location.

Wow .. so beautiful there, tho.

Error 6502

Have you replaced the ink cartridge recently? Service error 6502 is an ink tank position sensor error. Service error 6502 generally means that your ink cartridge chips cannot be recognised. The primary cause of this is the blockage of the LED. Ensure that no tape, glue etc is covering the chip or LED on the rear of the cartridge. Problem more prevalent on third party replacement cartridges or ink systems.
