Sony KV 27FS16 TV does not power on

I have a Sony KV 27FS16 Tv and when I power the set on nothing happens. There is just some type of chirping sound coming from the back of the set. The sound starts and quits after a few seconds.

The chirping is the power supply trying to start. This is not a repair that I would recommend a novice attempt. PLease have this unti serviced. Expect a parts cost in the $20-$40 range for power supply caps.

Sony kv-32fs13 chirps and flashes

Hello 0279737,

This problem is caused by a shorted Horizontal Output Transistor. I would suggest that you have this TV checked by a qualified TV technician. This type of problem requires dealing with dangerous voltages, and repair should only be attempted by a trained technician.

I hope this helps

Thank you,
