A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked.
It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.

If it is a cabrio:
dU flashes if the following conditions occur:
Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in an unlocked state.





TEST #8 Door Lid Lock
Perform the following checks if washer fails to lock (or unlock).
1. Perform Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock tests.
2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies.
3. Visually check that the P12 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1.
4. Check the lid lock motor winding and switches by removing P12 from the machine/ motor control and checking the
resistance values....

Replace machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 to verify repair.

try to operate the machine empty. if power light is on, and no other operation, lid switch. if lid is verified closed, then timer. if it starts taking water in and does not rotate, then motor

If you are able to open the side of the Case that supports the Pc board, and get a flashlight, there is a Fuse that is usually connected inside that area. Of course make sure the power is off before looking.

As noted in one of the earlier questions on the topic, it appears (will verify for certain after the pump is removed) the plastic resevoir tank has cracked and the hydraulic fluid was lost. Leakage was visible in trunk once spare tire removed.
Audi also noted this is not unusual for a vehicle this age, and the replacement tank is a $100 kit.

first off, hitting extra button on remote would not do anything. Is door up or down/ where is trolley that attaches to chain, by door or motor. Is is jamned against a bolt. Try a paper clip and jump from white to read terminal. Does it work. Does light bulb blink 10 times. I ignore the diagnostic lights and go by symptons. Give more info.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA ... ALL WASHERS DO HAVE A SAFTEY SWITCH TO PREVENT PEOPLE GETTING HURT WHEN WASHER IS IN AGITATE OR SPIN CYCLE. IF YOU CANT SEE A SMALL HOLE INSIDE THE RIM OF THE TOP UNDER THE DOOR WHERE A PEG PUSHES DOWN TO CLOSE THE SWITCH ... THEN THEY ARE USUALLY BUILT INTO THE HINGE ASSEMBLY. THE START BUTTON ALSO ACTIVATES A RELAY THAT MAY BE BAD.
