Impossible to say what the problem is but if the turntable has stopped you could check the turntable motor. This is easily accessed from the bottom of the unit but you have to actually break the sheet metal tabs that retain it in place and replace using the screws only.
I still think the smoke and smell is from your belt slipping... I'm thinking that, even though your beater bar is turning, it is not turning as freely as it should.. Dig deeper... There's a good chance you have a bunch of hair... or fibers... wrapped around it close to the end- bearings. It shouldn't take much effort at all to spin the beater with your hand. If, in fact, everything is clear, I would guess that you have a motor in the process of burning out.... or a bearing on the shaft of the motor is trying to cease. I don't know if there's a way to force some lubricant into a bearing on one of these motors, or not.. You ought to be able to find a motor for 30 to 50 dollars on the internet.. Unless you're a bit of a handyman, you'd probably want a vacuum repairman to replace the motor.
if motor ceased it junk now but with this truck only having 72000 miles on it i would put a new motor in it if you do decide to put new motor in it and plan on doing that kind of towing i highly recomend puting a oil cooler on it and high voulme oil pump if this truck has a factory oil cooler that in the radaitor i recomend u disconnect that one and put a aftermarket cooler on it if u do decide to reuse old oil cooler make sure you blow all the old oil out of cooler because it probley has **** in it from motor seizeing
the motor could be ceased up. do you hear a buzzing noise? if you dont hear a buzzing noise, turn it on for about 1 minute, unless it starts smelling hot or starts smoking. if nothing happens after that, try replacing the power cord.
sounds like you "had" a leaking rear-end.....and now u have a blown out ceased rear-end.....either you can have it rebuilt or have a new on put on....what caused the smoke was probably the fluid got low because of the leak causing the bearings in the rear-end assembly to heat up real bad and cease causing the truck to lock up the tires....lemme know what happens
