If you have a Remington pole saw, then no you cannot not get a bigger saw to fit the pole you have. The pole was only designed to fit and support the weight of the saw it came with.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, didn't see it. I honestly don't know the answer to your question. Do you have a friend or neighbor with one of these? You won't do any lasting damage performing what you discuss. Even if you determine what has failed I seriously dought you will find any parts.

The Remington manual for model 111409-01 states: "This Pole Saw requires lubrication only to prevent rust on the guide bar and saw chain. The saw chain provided is pre-lubricated at the factory. With each use of the Pole Saw apply a small amount of lubricating oil directly to the saw chain (see Figure 8). The oil will distribute itself around the chain and guide bar groove during use?preventing rust. We recommend using SAE #30 motor oil for lubrication and rust prevention."

Over the years the size of the cap has changed. There is only one cap available and replacement tanks to fit the current are NLA everywhere. I suggest you talk to a living breathing human on this, it may save a headache later.
