If you are in the USA
A compressor must be replaced by a certified refrigeration technician due to federal laws about proper handling of refrigerant. Also, all the joints must be soldered together with a torch, this is not a job for an amature.
If the fridge is less than 5 yrs old it should still be covered by the sealed system warranty and repaired at no charge.
I do know that the compressors for many of the SxS fridgidaires have been on back order due to a change to a different brand of replacement compressor. I recently waited 2 1/2 weeks on one I had ordered for a customer.
Once the tech has the compressor it is usually about a 2 hr job to replace, depending on the model.
Most of the parts dealers you contact will be hesitant to sell a compressor to someone that is not in the repair buisness, due to warranty claims if it is not installed properly. If you want to get one yourself you should be able to order it through Sears if you can't find it anywhere else. Go to sears.com, click on parts and enter the complete model number from the sticker in the refrigerator. If your model isn't listed you can call the 800 number on their site.
Hope this helps.

Why overload protector always cutting off and on?

Hi,
The overload opens to protect the compressor. It operates in relation the internal or external temp of the compressor, not pressure. With this being said, is or has the compressor ran hot or in a location where temperature increase is possible? I installed a unit in my work van and had a similar issue. I even know better, so in order to control heat I have to install a fan to cool down the compressor. To help you the issue is heat, cooling the compressor will be the only fix if you didn't already do the damage to the compressor. Good Luck

Coleman POWERMATE Lo502710. Compressor runs and builds up pressure and then keeps on running even when 100 PSI. It will not shut off. I do not hear a leak when I pull the electric plug to make it stop...

There is a problem with your pressure switch. You should have a little black box with a red lever to turn your air compressor on and off. This housing contains your pressure switch, the pressure switch sends an electrical signal to the switch to make your air compressor run. When enough pressure builds up the pressure switch activates, and breaks the signal until the pressure drops below a certain point. I will do some more research on your compressor and find out which pressure switch you need to order. i need you to find any numbers on the compressor you can, serial number, model, stock number, anything you can to help me find the part number.
Thank you for patience,

How do i remove the ac condenser on a mazda 3

B3E071161450W02
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)
3. Remove the splash shield.
4. Remove the A/C drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [LF].)
5. Detach the two wiring harness clamps.
6. Disconnect the magnetic clutch connector.
7. Remove the A/C compressor protector.
8. Disconnect the cooler hose (LO) and cooler hose (HI). Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the refrigerant line to spill. (See Refrigerant Line Removal Note.) (See Refrigerant Line Installation Note.)
Caution • If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunction could occur. Always plug open fittings immediately after removing any refrigeration cycle parts. 9. Remove the compressor protector.
10. Remove in the order indicated in the table. Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the A/C compressor to spill.

A/C Compressor Installation Note 1. When replacing the A/C compressor, remove the following amount of compressor oil from the new A/C compressor.
Amount drained (approx. quantity) • 155 ml {155 cc, 5.24 fl oz} - [compressor oil from old A/C compressor + 15 ml {15 cc, 0.5 fl oz}]

I am presently using fedora12.now i want to install windows 7 is it possible, they cannot taken any booting from the cd,by default grub installer is loading

Hi Thanks for your question
In order to boot from the CD drive you must change the Boot Order in BIOS.
In order access BIOS you must press certain key on the keyboard during start up. Depending on the machine it may be F1, F2, F3, F10 or Delete key. Once you acces BIOS you must find Boot order settings. Again depending on machine this may look different, but most of the time it's a separate Tab or settings may be in general part in BIOS setup. When you find it you have to place CD/DVD drive on the top of the list of Boot Order and before exiting BIOS sace changes. Now your machine should Boot up form CD and you should be able to install Windows 7. Do not hesitate to ask more questions if further assistance is needed. Good Luck

About how much does it cost to repair/replace the compressor on a haier 21' (top freezer) refrigerator. can anyone perform warranty service (compressor in warranty, not labor)? model: htq21jaaww, less than...

Could run as high as $800, material and labor. Tech providing service must have manufacturer OK if he is not a factory authorized rep. Since Haier is Canadian, that could be hard to find in the US. Tech must also be EPA certified to handle refrigerant. If you are not CERTAIN it is the compressor, also check the start relay/overload and capacitor. Same symptom but cheaper, easier fix.

AC Compressor is out

Is it a bad compressor or the compressor clutch, if your compressor has gone bad you can get one from partstrain.com and install it your self, juts make sure you order the O rings for the high and low pressure hose hosing to the compressor. The average price to the compressor is $350.00 and after you have installed the compressor just have the system serviced from a A/C repair shop. There going to vacuum all the moisture out and then recharge the system. This should keep your cost under $500.00. Good luck and hope this helps. http://www.partstrain.com/
