Won't install downloaded software from Canon

Hi ,

Unfortunaly , there is no driver nor software running beyond XP for this unit .
As a workaround , you can download and install Windows XP mode at Microsoft's : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7 or http://lifehacker.com/5965889/how-to-run-windows-xp-for-free-in-windows-8

download it from link below
1) click on Drivers and Software
2) selet your Os (operating system i am assuming you have xp; so select windows xp)
3) click on drivers SG-CSU532.exe to download drivers and click on ScanGearToolboxCSv223.exe to dowload it.
4) agree to dowload and run it.

Note: the Canon CanoScan FB630Ui only support Mac Os X, windows XP windows 2000 and windows me. you wont be able to run it on any version of vista. windows 7.

as of the above site NO, No you cannot.

The best you MAY be able to do is to install in compatibility mode, for XP SP2, Run as and install as Administrator.

there is no driver yet for windows 7.but download scan gear and scan gear toolbox from here:http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000473.asp  open properties,compatibility and run it in compatibility mode for xp sp2

However, you might be able to install the Windows XP drivers and run the driver in 'Compatibility Mode' for XP SP2.

First, un-install any drivers you have installed for the scanner (if you have tried any).

Second, disconnect the scanner from your computer.

Download the driver and the software update from the provided link (above).

Once you have downloaded the driver (ps804en.exe) right click it, select the Properties/Compatibility Tab and check 'Use Compatibility Mode' and set it for Windows XP SP2, and also check 'Run as Administrator'
Then click ok.

Now run ps804en.exe and do not connect your scanner until the installation is finished (unless it specifically asks you to connect the scanner).

Now right click the updated software (ps803mu.exe),select the Properties/Compatibility Tab and check 'Use CompatibilityMode' and set it for Windows XP SP2, and also check 'Run asAdministrator'
Then click ok.

Now run ps803mu.exe


With any luck this might work.

Go to this link. Select Windows XP in the Select OS box. You will see Canon's printer driver for the BJC-2100, and under 'Software' you will see ISScan_v350.exe which is actually the driver for the IS-22, compatible with Windows XP.

Install and download both files on your computer. I know that Windows XP has a driver already for the BJC-2100, but it may not work properly with the IS Scan driver.

This file is included in the cab files for Windows XP Professional Service Pak 2. If you are running XP Pro Sp1, download , install upgrade for Sp2, also wouldn't hurt to goto Windows Update via Internet Explorer and run any WIN Xp security updates.

Download and install full software and driver package for your machine from brothers web site, it sounds like you have installed the print drivers but not the scanning software.
