Are you able to check with a volt meter there is power from output to printer.. No reading, best renew power supply

click to the add / remove programme

remove all programmes off HP printer one by one

First, try pushing the arrow to allow the machine to clear out the command that it is trying to share with you. Then unplug the machine from the wall and the pc and wait 1 - 2 minutes. Plug it back into the pc first and then turn the pc on and allow it to go through its start up and load windows. When its finished, plug the printer back into the wall and then turn the printer on.

That should clear the error.

If for chance it does not fix this error and the light is still blinking you have two options. If the printer is still young enough to be under warranty then contact HP and have it repaired. they will give you an RMA number and have you mail it to them with a prepaid label or give you a local address to an authorized repair center.

If it is not under warranty and you do not have the money to repair it or feel it would not be worth spending money on to repair it - then here is my last suggestion:

The Printer has a motherboard inside with a Nicad battery which is flat and round. Usually the motherboard is located on the right hand side (if facing the printer in front of you). If you can pop that battery out, wait a few minutes and then put it back in - this will reset the printer and should clear the error.

I am not suggesting to ignore any problems that your printer may be reporting to you with that blinking light and if you choose to by pass it by using this option, please do so on your own choice.

Unplug the power and replug it .
Make sure you removed the protection tape from the cartridge.
Try pressing the down arrow button and see if the error goes away.
In vista right click the printer and select the option Use printer online.
