Canon Pixma 882 Printer. Copies several pages. Then an error message appears " No paper" although the tray is full. Removing the tray, there is a single sheet partially scrunched up. All of the tabs and other parts of the tray are in unbroken condition and there appears to be nothing jamming the mechanism.

SOURCE: Hi :) I'm trying to print on my Canon PIxma- mp480 to no avail

Hello
This can be due to a feeder wrong setting on the printer or on your PC: your printer tries to take paper from the back feeder, whereas your paper is on the front feeder....
try to check these settings in your PC and on your printer, and retry to print, hoping this helps

SOURCE: canon pixma MP620 paper jam

Hello! I have solved your problem! The first thing you need to do is extend the back paper holder all the way up. This should uncover a long rectangular hole. There is a plastic piece with 2 arrows pointing to the right on it (if you are looking at the back straight on). Simply push them to the Right and it will pop up on the Left side. You can now lift that piece out and VOILA there is your misfed paper! Just reinsert the rectangular piece back in after you have taken the misfed paper out! -Gary Maples

SOURCE: My Canon PIXMA Pro9000 InkJet Photo Printer paper jam error

Had the same problem with mine. Shook it upside down and cleaned it with air cans after reading this solution for other canon printers:

To my surprise, it worked perfectly... and was great stress relief.

My MX882 keeps feeding from back tray. How do I get it to print from front tray ?

Press the MENU button, select TOOLS or SETUP, select DEVICE SETTINGS, then plain paper feed settings and alter the settings to suit. This can also be performed from the computer from the printers and faxes folder (or devices in Win8). Open the printer window, click "Printer" then printer preferences and select paper source.

Printer notes "Error 6000". It is being used

Take a close look at the printer and the paper tray. The error usually means that the paper output tray is closed (or something is blocking it from opening). Remove the object blocking the paper tray and pull it fully open (including the extension). Then turn off the printer and turn it back on. The error can also occur when a book is being scanned that blocks the paper tray.

Some documentation on the Canon error messages for the MX860 is here: https://www.canon.ie/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MX_series/PIXMA_MX860.aspx?faqtcmuri=tcm:24-644260&page=1&type=faq .

I hope this helps.

I wanted to print a form from the internet The printer said The rear loader is empty I only use front loader and it is full I did not ask it to change to rear loader I want to use the front tray as I...

It could be several issues - although commonly when a printer moves from it's default tray it's due to a paper size conflict. The form you are trying to print may be a legal size form (8.5x14) or a a non US standard such as A3. Regardless, if the size is different than what's loaded in your main paper tray it will move to the secondary tray or to the MPF (Manual Paper Feed) tray looking for the appropriate size.

If you don't have the appropriate paper, you should be able to enter your printer properties and adjust the settings to scale the document to fit to page.
