Canon Pixma 882 Printer. Copies several pages. Then an error message appears " No paper" although the tray is full. Removing the tray, there is a single sheet partially scrunched up. All of the tabs and other parts of the tray are in unbroken condition and there appears to be nothing jamming the mechanism.

This can be due to a feeder wrong setting on the printer or on your PC: your printer tries to take paper from the back feeder, whereas your paper is on the front feeder....
try to check these settings in your PC and on your printer, and retry to print, hoping this helps

Hello! I have solved your problem! The first thing you need to do is extend the back paper holder all the way up. This should uncover a long rectangular hole. There is a plastic piece with 2 arrows pointing to the right on it (if you are looking at the back straight on). Simply push them to the Right and it will pop up on the Left side. You can now lift that piece out and VOILA there is your misfed paper! Just reinsert the rectangular piece back in after you have taken the misfed paper out! -Gary Maples

The error code 5700 is the sensor error.Replace the sheet
feed unit and then adjust the timing of the paper feed gears.

Had the same problem with mine. Shook it upside down and cleaned it with air cans after reading this solution for other canon printers:
