HP's are great about color coding. You should have corresponding colors on the cables to places on the desktop.

SOURCE: can I update my HP Pavilion 504n processor

Hello,

My Name is ArmyMason and I have the answer to your question. Here is the specs to your system http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=bph07813 as you can see it only supports the Pentium 4 or Celeron chipset. So the answer is no, it will not work with that Motherboard. http://www.ciao.co.uk/Motherboards_5226490_3-phenom this site has a few cheap boards that will support that chip if you want to buy a new Motherboard.

Hope that answers your question,
ArmyMason

SOURCE: can you change the fan

you can research the actual manufacturer of the motherboard that HP uses and see if they offer a software progrm that controls such features as the fan speed. its highly possible they do.

If the slider will not move, your monitor may not be capable of accepting the higher resolution. Check the kind of color you are using, medium, true of highest.

Need polarity of adapter plug for HP Pavilion DV6500

The cables for these are fairly specific, but if you have a cbale that has the same plugs and fits both the transformer side and the computer side, you cna use that as a replacement. The cord itself has no polarity.
Are you looking to do something else here?
