I have an emachines t2824, i bought a new hardrive for it, and just did a fresh install of windows xp, but it won't allow me to connect to the internet or listen music, and i believe it's the drivers can anyone help me? and i've already been on emachines official suppost site and no luck other than graphics drivers, please i really need help
You need to get this software installed on your computer its called Driver Detective http://www.drivershq.com/. Since you cannot connect to the internet I suggest you find a way to save the download file and install it on your computer (use a friends computer). This program will let you know what drivers are needed. Once you know this, make a list of what drivers are needed and use another computer to save the downloaded files and transfer those programs to your computer and install them one by one. I hope this method helps It might be a little time consuming, but the end result is good.

There are drivers for modem, chipset, network, video,audio, media reader.
I just checked emachines website and here is a link to the driver page for this machine and XP drivers
when you cleaned the HD you did eraser some of the software that was on the hardrive that is need to do the Quick restore and know the only way to fix this is to installe a new copy of windows and look up the drivers for the motherboard.
