After pushing start pad, the microwave will turn its self off automatically and the display reads F-9
It is an over the range model and is 2 years old.
F-9 also appears after trying other cooking settings
-Oven will run for only 7 seconds before turnoff
-Need support
Thanks
It may be programed for 7 secs on f9 this is how I fixed mine, just unplug it for a few seconds plugged back and see if it's gone you may need to set the time before it goes on work mode again, good luck.
It seems there is something wrong either with the builtin controls or the buttons. It needs to be examine by a professional.

What you said about the the clock leads me to suggest that you first unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in. It may just need a good reset. If you don't have your owner's manual you can download one here: http://www.lge.com/support/manual.jsp The mention of odor concerns me. It may just be a bit of food or grease on the waveguide cover, which is a small sheet or panel on the wall or ceiling of the cooking cavity, but it may indicate the failure of a part in the high voltage section. You may have an intermittent door switch. You can see some of my other responses for info on how to get our important text file that helps you diagnose and repair door switches and gives important safety tips.
SOURCE: F-9 error on LG microwave
This is a problem with the inverter or magnetron. Due to the lethal voltages involved, I do not recommend that a person without training and experience ever work on these models. You can find support for service or parts at http://us.lge.com/support/support.jsp

E-02 on the LED display.
That usually indicates a keyboard error...not a good thing...take it back and get a new one.

Same issue here. LMVM1935 about 2 months past warranty keypad stopped working. Apparently they need to add something in the manual about not boiling water on the range over which the microwave is installed (gee who would have thought that there would be steam over the cooktop and we should seal the membrane?).
The silver traces on the keypad got corroded and no longer conduct. After complaining to Sears (NO HELP) and LG (EVEN MORE INEPT) and running on 30sec button for about 6 months, I found a replacement keypad $30 w/ shipping and didn't break anything taking the door apart, thanks to the parts list link above. Thanks Rickzilla!
Life's Good, Their Keypad SUCKS, or apparently we are the only people that boil water anymore.
SOURCE: turntable won't turn
Look at the front panel, at the bottom, in the middle.
Identify the button labeled "Turntable On/Off".
Push it.
Slap yourself on the forehead.
Next time you fumble to turn of the light in the dark, push the right button.

That's often a bad door switch or door switch mount or a problem with the inverter, depending on the model.
Please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.
