My washing machine sounds like it still has water in it when i spin it and it smells musty

Hi

The smell usually comes when the washer is unable to drain water completely, you can run your washer at its hottest temperature setting with 1 cup of vinegar inside the unit. After this take off the bottom front panel and clean it completely, also clean the drain hose and drain pump filter, the smell should disappear after doing all this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The washer smells funny. Like mildew or something. No water standing. Seems to drain.

Probably has some standing water in the pump hoses as well as the drain hoses If you do not use the machine often, then some water is left in the drain hoses and upon evaporation it may do what you smell. Pour some bleach in the tub, with water and let stand for 15 min. put it on rinse and let drain and do the smell test again.

Water is not completely pumped out of machine, I can hear it sloshing under the bowl. Have taken back off and tipped machine and some water has come out but not all of it. It is making the house smell...

sounds like you may have some blockage between the tub and pump or pump to stand pipe where water goes down the drain, check all these areas for blockage or kinked hoses

I have a Maytag MAH3000AWW Washer. It will start

That is a common issue that is caused by the control board of the machine. You may need to request service to fix this issue. Usually it may be caused by a resistor. Replacing the resistor may make the machine to work for a while but the repair will not last longer. I believe that the machine control board next to be replaced. Something else may be causing the control board to go bad.

Perhaps you were able to feel a burning smell from the washer machine in previous days.

Standing water may be caused by the control board failure because the pump will not operate properly.

Hi, I have a Baumatic Washing Machine (not sure of the model) and cannot find the filter. The machine gives off an awful smell which I am trying to fix

you should find the filter but that is not what is causing the smell. common causes of smell are:
using liquid detergent - this smells like drains if used for a long period and leaves a horrid sludge in the tub. put on a boil wash with no clothers and use powder detergent
plumbed in under the sink and there is also a waste disposal unit. these pong!
no water barrier between the drain of the washer and the house drains

How do you have your drain hooked up?
I have seen people stuff the pipe so far into the stand pipe that when it goes into drain it siphons the water back. The water doesn't go all the way into the unit, but enough that the water in the 'P' trap moves, gas can then come up from the sewer. Make sure your drain pipe is hooked up properly. It should also not be a sealed fit either.

Admiral Washer smells like mildew

yes it could . If you are trying to pump the water 7 feet or more above the floor then it will at the end of the cycle get air into the drain hose causing cavatation, the result when the machines stops is the water running back down the drain hose back into the tub and that is what causes the musty smell.
Lower the drain if possible
