Karcher pressure washer spray wand handle doesn't depress plunger in brass pressure valve.

Sounds like its shot. You can probably buy a replacmentnoff Ebay at a low price.

I would be surprised to discover any pressure washer that required brushes - mostly they use an induction motor that doesn't require brushes.

Perhaps it is a different type of Karcher product needing the brushes?

Unless Karcher has decided the product is obsolete you should be able to buy them, perhaps directly from Karcher or order them from any Karcher dealer or agent.

Failing this there are a number of internet sites dedicated to the supply of spare parts and accessories for all manner of domestic, trade and industrial appliances.
There are also companies that will match carbon brushes from supplied dimensions or a pattern and will make carbon brushes to order if they can't be matched, often at a very good price.

Solent Tools here in the UK is the company I use and I expect there are similar companies in every country.

Smoke coming from 238 washer and leak underneath

The leakage is probably causing the smoke?, you will have to dismantle the body and see where the leakage is coming from, my bet would be the plastic connector to the pump you will need deep set torx tools and allen keys to get inside (not easy) Karcher use cheap components and break down all the time i find it easier to buy a new modest price washer

Not sure what type pump you have but you can buy a chem. injector rebuild kit at Pressure washer parts catalog quick links Pressure Washers High Pressure...
If you need to replace the spring then replace the entire kit. Ball, spring and oring. Most pumps that come on the newer TRoy bilts are AR RMW pumps. the parts diagram can be found here at http://www.arnorthamerica.com/manuals/rmw-om%201006.pdf
The parts for a AR chem. injector are
480480 O-Ring
1250280 Ball
1560520 Spring

What is the price on one of these use

You can get parts for it but you need some odd tools to work on the pump. You will need a torque wrench, seal drivers that are a special size for the pump seals, and a good set of regular tools. You need to have a pick set for pulling the seals and the valves.

Help! i have a pacific hydrostar 65078. Engine runs fine. Pump pressure is good with the hose off. the stream shoots across my driveway. But when i connect the hose(sears 3/8 25'' i loose all pressure.

You have to have a clogged hose gun. Try blowing it out with air. Also, Harbor Freight sells the Pacific-Hydrostar and you can buy a 2 year full warranty for around $70 bucks. A small price to pay if you use your powerwasher on a frequent basis. If anything goes wrong, regardless of what the cause, they simply replace the washer.Hope this helps.

Craftsman pressure washer #580761810 will not dispense detergent.

Karchers are known as one shot wonders, The pump used on them is an aluminum alloy that powders when you use any type of chlorine/bleach detergent in them at all. My advice is to use it as just a pressure washer and spray the detergent with a hand pump garden sprayer. The pump and parts are so expensive that its not worth the time or money to try to repair. I also feel that if you are not a monthly user of this machine it is much more cost effecient to rent one for the day when you need one.A reputible rental price is about 30 dollars for 4 hours or 50 for 24 hours.Good luck
