"Clear paper jam" error, but there is no jam!

My MP130 gave me an error message that read "please clear paper jam and press ok", but there is no paper jam. I've tried a few steps that Canon gave me (remove cartridges, off & on, etc.) and I've tried pressing ok, and reset, but nothing works.....thanks! Same deal - was printing fine then keeps flashing E 3 tried resetting, cleaning rollers, powering down - nothing has worked so far. GRRrrrr!!!

I have the same problem with my MP160, and it's hardly been used! It thinks there's a paper jam, and there isn't. I've tried all kinds of things and nothing works; I'm ready to throw it out. I'm very annoyed; this is not a good product. Any solutions out there?

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

The error message "Service Error 6A00" and cannot fix it. HELP!

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

"Clear paper jam" error, but there is no jam!

Use flashlight to shine inside of all possible visible areas of printers. Especially to the very right or very left. I'm sure you will find something. Remove it

"Clear paper jam" error, but there is no jam!

Try cleaning the rollers, it's the maintenance tab on the printer's properties. Maybe this will help.
