Adjust the Low idle screw so that it doesn't die out. On most saws, to adjust the idle, look for an opening that has an L next to it (there is also one for high idle speed with an H next to it). Use a small screwdriver, and be careful--many of the idle adjustment screws are plastic so you don't want to strip it.

Why husquavarna concrete saw wont idle down

Have you checked the throttle is returning to tickover on the carb ? cable sticking ? If it is on tickover and still high reving then you could have an air leak after the carb , check the intake manifold , crank seals could be worn and this will let the engine rev by its self ! fuel mixture correct as if its 2stroke a lean mix can do this as well ! ??

Replace the fuel filter in the tank, check the fuel hose up to the carb for signs of leaking, if so replace the line, between the cylinder and the carb back plate is a rubber induction tube, make sure this has no split.

May need to replace the oiler. I would also take the bar off and make sure the little hole in the bar that allows the oil into the grooves isn't clogged!

55 rancher starts in choke mode, when taken off choke, it dies.

It sounds as though it is lean. Operating it lean may cause failure. This may be caused by many things including but not limited to; leaky intake connections at the engine or carburetor; leaky crankcase seals; cracked fuel delivery lines.
If no air leaks tweaking the carburetor may solve it but be warned; frequent carburetor adjustment can mask a much more serious problem. Try turning the "L" needle CCW (richer a little). This is the best adjustment procedure I have found.

  • CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
  • Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.
  • Clean the spark arrestor and muffler; if the saw cannot exhale it cannot inhale.
  • There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full - may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.

There is no problem as long as the bar is the right bar and the new chain you use is the right pitch for the sprocket that is on your saw.

Reset chainsaw brake on a husqvarna 455 rancher

You removed the cover while the chain brake was in the locked position.  The plier method will be a pain in the ***, as you cannot get enough leverage to twist lock or spread the spring.   I've accidently done this myself and found a much easier way to solve the problem.  Just remove the chain brake handle by unscrewing 2 screws.  Stick the cover and the handle together as they would if it was correctly assembled and twist.  You should be able to unlock the chain brake and it will now slide right on.
