Hi, I get this type of thing quite often in my shop, usually what happens is that the power supply is damaged by the event, it really doesn't matter how good of a protection setup one has, it still happens...
Often PSU replacement, or repair, will fix the issue, but sometimes the power spike goes deeper and affects the motherboard electronics, only testing will reveal whats wrong.
You will need to obtain a service manual if you wish to DIY, otherwise get it looked at by a professional, and get a "Quote" first before allowing any repairs to be undertaken.
