Try this: take a small, sharp knife and make sure the air slit on the top of the cartridge goes all the way through the plastic. You know that little tab you have pull off the top of the cartridge before inserting in the print head? There is a tiny slit under the tab to let air in, which is necessary to let the ink flow out. The slit is made very small so ink won't leak inadvertently out the top. Sometimes the slit doesn't go all the way through the plastic. When that happens, the ink can't flow. I blew through that slit on a defective cartridge and no ink came out. I used a pen knife to open the slit (it doesn't take much) and then blew again. This time ink spewed out the bottom. My print test showed the black ink coming through. It was a bit spotty so I cleaned the print head and now the black ink comes out just like its supposed to.

Hi RobynPRINTING ON REVERSE SIDE OF PHOTO PAPER The only realistic choice here is for you to chalk this episode down to experience, buy some new photo paper of the correct type to produce your preferred outcome and then do another print run of the postcards. I always advise, when printing on exotic papers and even when producing ink intensive printing on ordinary paper, to print a single test copy first and then study the result, rather than completing the entire print run in one go. Because of the lack of absorbency on the reverse side of the paper you used, I would also recommend temporarily putting the printer settings back to regular paper and printing a test page, so the micro-nozzles on the print head are cleared of any excess ink. If the test page is not perfect, then also run your printer's Print Head Cleaning maintenance tool. Then reset the printer back to photo printing for another run at your postcards.Good luck.I hope this helps.

it's a cartridge fault, you have to replace the cartridges, then carry out a nozzel clean.

VH monitor error mainboard or printhead error only replace can fix problem

If after all you do, reinstall drivers, clean, etc. unit still does not print, then your problem may lie with the print head which on Canon printers is NOT part of the cartridge. If cartridges have been filled that may be causing the issue and there could be a work around for it posted on Google. Printer outfits do not want you to get your own ink.

Unplug and shut off all devices, restart and see if connection is made. Was the driver disc installed in laptop for this printer? Might have to create a new wifi network if communications are not being made.

Go to the canon website and download the proper driver. You must also download the wireless connection software. If you google "Canon Pixma MG220", the first item will be the link you need. You also download the manual. Good Luck

cycle the printer power, if it is WIFI, be sure the WIFI is active and on. remove and reload the printer if nothing else works.

Bad news - either the main-board is toast or the gear train has got out of sync. A good service tech might be able to fix it, but it is unlikely to be salvageable. It is also possible that the print-head has cooked, but they are usually more expensive the just replacing the machine.
