After setting the bios for formatting my ecs

I had that motherboard, wasn't happy with it at all.
But you can flash the BIOS if you want . Make sure you download the correct BIOS version. There are like 10 versions for P4VMM2. I chose the wrong one last time my system didn't boot. I threw the motherboard away, purchased an Intel Motherboard.
I'm not a ECS fan at all. Use AMI flash utility , flash the BIOS under Windows.

WIRING CONNECTION

Hi,
You'll need to download the manual for you're ECS P4VMM2, MB.
If you no longer have it.
Left click on the link provided by ECS below to open;
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/ECSSearch.aspx?menuid=0&lanid=9&keyword=P4VMM2
There are many version for the P4VMM2 MB. Look closely on you're MB for the correct revision. There are slight differences between each revision. You will also need to download Adobe reader to view the manual. If you do not have Adobe reader installed click on the link to download and install Adobe. (Adobe is free).
http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
The most important connections start on page 11 to page 14. For front panel wire connections. Hard disk drive LED, Power LED, Reset LED ECT, keep in mind which wire color is ground & which wire color is positive. You'll find 1 common color for each jumper. This common colored wire will be used for ground. The other colored wires will be used as positive. (Execpt internal speaker). Internal speakers normally use the color red for positive and black for negative.
Just follow the manual and you'll find it is not very tough.
If you get confused or lost feel free to post questions.

Cheers'
Mike

Automatic restart boot

It is either stuck on the install process or you picked up a virus that was going around a while back. Run Virus check from a boot disk if you weren't installing Windows. If you where installing windows, format the drive and reinstall something glitched. You could try removing the file Firststart from the Main Directory but that rarely works.
