Results for: Microsoft Product: Windows
There is severe corruption in the kernel (the core files) of your OS and the drivers are no longer loaded. Since you don't know what caused (probably some bad drivers since this motherboard is too old and doesn't have the correct Win 7 ones) it the only sure way to resolve it is to perform a full reinstall of XP.
I lost my drivers and manual for my P4Vmm2
Hi, The elitegroup webiste is http://www.ecs.com.tw From there you can click on the downloads tab in the top right corner.
This page will then bring up a pane on the left hand side of the screen where you can enter the details of the product you are looking for. So on the first drop menu select motherboad.
Second Drop menu select Socket 478 from the bottom of the list.
Third drop menu scroll down until you see your model number (P4Vmm2)
The fourth drop menu will then ask you for a version. I would have dirctly posted you a link to the downloads page but i was unsure of your motherboard version. If you know the version number you can put it in there and it will take you to a page listing the drivers you are after and the manual.
If you do not know the version of your motherboard model you can download a free program called SIW which will tell you the details of your computer. This Program is available for download at:
http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html
Its a 1.3Mb download which you can install and run and click on the motherboard tab for a full list of details on your motherboard.
Hopefully you can see the motherboard version written somewhere on your motherboard though.
Hope this helps, Daniel.

Jumper giude
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart (note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive) The BIOS is AMI. Under ADVANCED SETUP: The options listed for 1st,2nd ,3rd Boot device include:IDE-0 means Pri master ?IDE-1 means Pri slave ?IDE-2 means Sec master ?IDE-3 means Sec slave ? hope this helps
Master/Slave designation is determined by jumpers on IDE drives. Most drives have adequate markings on them to identify these jumper positions. If not marked clearly, you will need the manufacturer's data to determine that designation. If you are curious about a working system just power-up in set-up mode (usually by depressing (f1-or-f2) during boot-up sequence, your system-bios will display this information for you.
