It's usually the teeth are broken/worn off the plastic gears. Sounds like one side may be ate up. Check your belts and gears.

2 possible issues with your washer.
1 or both the support shocks or springs have broken
the drum would look off center even when empty
or rear bearring has worn out.
this is a very common problem with the fridgidaire washer... (this kenmore is a frigidaire model)
problem is caused by very hard water (well water) or improper use of detergent. this machine uses a High efficency type detergent, marked by "HE" on the detergent container

I searched other similar models because mine was not shown. I found a similar problem with the solution provided - took off the front bottom panel, detatched the pump and hose and pulled out the small sock that was blocking the pump.

Catriver(fixya) has a solution:
Remove the top, by removing the 3 screws in the rear. The top will slide off toward the back. Next remove the control panel. Remove the 2 screws on each end on top. Remove the detergent drawer. Remove the torq screws behind the detergent drawer. The control panel will now snap off, pulling from the top and lifting up. Once freed, remove the control panel ribbon cable from the side of the main board. Now remove the screws holding the door switch mechanism in place. Remove the spring that holds the outer part of the boot from the front panel. Now remove the 4 quarter inch screws that hold the front panel and door on the front. Now you can install the new boot with ease. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is not that bad. Just reverse the process when the boot is on the tub. Make sure to have the mark on the boot ^ lined up with the mark on the tub on top.

you did fine several companies built kenmore for sears yours looks like a frigidaire on some models there is a problem with water collecting at the bottom of the door where the bellows or boot is and leak to correct this they came out with a new boot that has a channel at the bottom with three holes in it so the trapped water can drain back into the tub the parts kit for that is 5303937187 now on washers with rubber boots its recommend that you shut the door with a little force to make sure it closes tight against the boot sorry about the letters they came with the part number you might want to call kenmore parts to ask about the boot kit if i was there i could tell you but it looks like a frigidaire to me

If you lift the top of machine with a flat head screw driver . just push in and lift the top ,you will see the hole which is connected. replace the hole. hop this information could help you

I would take apart the pump and I'll bet you there is a booby pin or something jamming it, I had the same problem and fixed it by myself.

What I would do in this situation is fix the door lock first before I would do another load of clothes. you can go to Kenmore.com put in your model # and download your manual to your machine if you want to fix yourself
or you can call service tech out. I will help you find one in your area if you need.

Usually not. If you can you will need a door kit from sears. But in most cases the manufacture does not want to mess with the doors seal, so they dont offer a change.

I assume that you're talking about the inner spring. It's very tight, so you have to get the rubber gasket (bellows) fitted on the its frame, then push the bellows inside out in toward the tub. Start with placing the spring in its groove at 12 o'clock. Wedge something between the bellows and the white colored weight ring of the tub. You'll need something approx 3/4" in diameter to wedge the top of the spring in place. (I've used a 1/2"X90 degree copper elbow I had laying around that had an approx outside diameter of 3/4"). This will hold the spring in place as you work it around. It is still very difficult and you may have to stretch the spring ever so slightly to get it back into the groove. Once the spring is back on, remove the wedge, fold the bellows back out and attach the fill hose and attach bellows back to front panel.

you see the problem right there, id replace the shock absorbers,and change both for the other has been taken on extra stress levels, unable to look up part number for you with incomplete model number, but def a job you can do yourself
