Model 417 44052401--will not spin

The indicated symptom signifies a faulty door lock and switch assembly. It is a safety feature of the washer not to advance to the spin cycle should the door lock is not activated to prevent injury due to accidental opening the washer door during a high speed spin. Check the wiring connections of the door lock and switch assembly to the main control board and the door lock and switch assembly itself. Make sure the connections are good and snug fit. Disconnect power to the machine prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Access to the main control board requires the removal of the top and the console. Remove the top panel by removing the screws attaching it to the rear of the washer then slide it rearward and off.

Pull the dispenser drawer out then push the locking tab to release it an pull the drawer completely out. Once the drawer is out, remove the 3 screws from the opening left by the drawer including the screws attaching the top of the console to the washer cabinet.

Disconnect the console wiring harness connection then lift the console and flip it forward to detach it from the cabinet. Disconnect wiring harness connections from the console then clean the connectors and terminals to ensure a good and snug fit connection. This will eliminate the possibility of loose wiring harness connection that may cause the malfunctioning of the door lock.

If this is a Kenmore front loader, the serial number is on a nameplate tag around the door opening along with the model number. You need to open the door to see it. I hope this helps you.

Ever since I purchased my Kenmore Front Loader I

Look up Melaleuca online, find a representative in your area, sign up and buy their laundry products directly from the company. Every customer, friend, or relative of mine that has had an allergy, skin rash, or athsma, I have sent to try this product, has had their problem disappear within 3 weeks. I have done this for 12 years with this company and researched the naturopathic laundry products for 12 years before finding this. (Front Loaders especially build up a sludge inside between the drums that is a combination of bacteria, mold, dirt, pet hair, skin cells, very high ph value detergents, ect. ect. and the tea tree oil in the Melaleuca products cleans this sludge out of your washer. It is the srongest solvent in nature, a fungicide and antibacterial agent, and is ph nuetral. Let me know if this helps you. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

I have a Kenmore Mod#11042922220\r\nSer#CSM1105042

Hi
You can't really repair the seal, but you can replace it with a new one for under $130 if you do the repair yourself. You can order it online or from a local appliance shop, as prices vary slightly from place to place.
However it's a relatively easy repair, all you need to do is remove the spring retaining wire around the outer edge of the bellows gasket, just peel it back at the edge to see it. Now locate the locking loop by going around the rim. Once you find the locking loop, you can remove it using a couple pairs of small needle nose pliers as they make it easier to get off.
Once you've done that, you'll see the locking plate that holds the back side of the bellows gasket onto the outer washer tub. Remove those fasteners and you can get the bellows off and start in on putting the new bellows onto the washer, just reversing the order you used in the removal process.
Just take your time removing the old gasket so you remember what you're doing and when installing the new gasket so as not to rip or tear it in the process. I'd also suggest you let the gasket relax for a good 4-5 hours (to get the kinks and folds out of it from the packing box) before you do the installation.

Drains but will not spin

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The noise of the motor engaging, lack of agitation and ability to still drain are the usual symptoms. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking. The following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

A replacement coupler can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. Just use the part number in the link and "Search by Part Number" for your search criteria.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Can not change Cycle setting

I wonder if it's the control board that needs replacing ??? found a note on www.managemyhome.com saying...(part no 134207700 according to my parts list). Is there anything unique/special in replacing the control board... here are the instructions for it...if you try this, pelase let me know...

Replacing the control board is just a matter of removing wires from the old control board and installing them on the new one. It is an electronic board and can be damaged by static electricity so you have to touch some ground points with you hands before touching the control board.
To access the control board remove the top panel from the washer. There are 2 screws in the rear of the washer holding the top on.
With the top removed you will see three screws going down from the top holding the control panel to the cabinet of the washer; remove them.
Lift the control panel up and it will come loose. The control is mounted to the control panel with some screws.
